There are some of us who are quite....angry at games which need 1 more person, and u join, and quit ONLY because of a single lvl 1 noob with 999 ms. This is directed to those noobs. The ? ms" problem is caused because the ping signal is blocked. This can also be caused if your using dialup.
This thread is designed to tell you how to fix this problem if you are using broadband. More likely than not, you have a router. Most routers have a built in firewall, and this blocks the ping signal. ---> Please go to www.portfoward.com to learn how to open/forward ports for RAKION so pings can go through.
Also, 3rd party programs such as Norton Antivirus, Zonealarm, McAfee etc also block the signals. Either turn them all off, or if your pro like moi, then set up the options to open up UDP and TCP/IP ports 50817 for both Start and End ports. If you didn''t get a single word i just said...turn off your antivirus.
Also, for Microsoft XP users, there''s yet another built in firewall. Go to Control Panel -> Security -> Firewalls to turn it off OR edit it again for opening ports 50817 UDP and TCP/IP
*NOTE* I am not held liable if spyware goes into your computer because you turned off your Antivirus. This is only to fix up the 999 ms problem and ADVICE only. Do the above at your own risk.

lol every country have thier own ports this cant work in other country.. and asking ppl to disable the antivirus is just plain dumb.. y dun u ask them to turn down the firewall on thier router instead...........

*Edit* For those who do not know the model of their router, USUALLY your router address is “192.168.0.1”. Type this address into Internet Explorer, and a login screen should appear. Above the login is the model number.

Erm, every country have their own ports? Well, Rakion only uses 1 port and thats 50817. "y dun u ask them to turn down the firewall on thier router instead...........", well I have given you people instructions on how to forward ports, which allows Rakion to run without leaving your firewall open.

So saying "y dun u ask them to turn down the firewall on thier router instead..........." indicates that you don''t know anything about forwarding ports, and is "plain dumb" because your leaving your computer open to hackers for the same effect as port forwarding.

agreed. Thanks for taking the time to explain it to computer illiterate people (i figured all this out from playing other games). Softnyx should have given people advice on how to do this. Glad someone took the effort
