Game Infinity, a national pavilion organized by the GSTAR Organizing Committee, returns to E3 2006 with 16 select Korean game companies.
The pavilion will feature a traditional Korean kite in the shape of a shield to symbolize Korean game developers' success all over the world.
In this peculiarly themed pavilion, 16 companies will reveal state-of-the-art game applications, devices and cutting-edge games in various platforms and genres.
Special events will also be held such as¡°Get the Golden Key¡±(to win mobile phones)and a game of darts with prizes for the enjoyment of E3 visitors .
The source of Korea's competitiveness in the global industry can be traced
back to the 16th century, when the BangPae Kite(Shield-shaped kite) was
used as a telegraphic message to protect the country's coastlines in
conjunction with Admiral Yi Soon-Shin's 'Tuttle Ships'. The BangPae Kite
soared high thanks to the hole in the center of its rectangular frame and was
used as a scientific instrument.
Power of Korea Game, as the theme of Korea pavilion which forms BangPae
Kite, stands for the hope that Korea will fly high in the future and tackle any
challenges that lie ahead. The symbol for the pavilion was created by
combining the shape of the kite and the first letter of Game Infinity
(Exhibiting name of Korea Pavilion) and GSTAR Organizing Committee
(organizer of Korea Pavilion). The principal word is displayed in the vibrant
shades of blue, red, and white which is a symbolized color of the national flag
of Korea.
