Overview:
Đã 25 năm kể từ thời điểm Electronic Arts và Interplay Production cho ra mắt phiên bản đầu tiên của Wasteland trên PC, InXile Entertaiment – nhà phát triển của phiên bản đầu tiên sẽ chính thức phát hành phần tiếp theo của tựa game nhập vai kinh điển này. Giám đốc của studio, Brian Fargo đã thông báo trên trang Twitter chính thức của mình về thời điểm quay trở lại của tựa game này là vào ngày 19 tháng 9 tới.
Wasteland 2 đã thu được đến hơn 3 triệu đô tiền vốn thông qua Kickstarter và đã cho ra mắt phiên bản Early Access trên Steam từ tháng 12 năm ngoái, game sẽ được phát hành trên cả PC, Mac và Linux. Game đã nhận được gần 3 triệu đô từ hơn 61.000 người hâm mộ trên khắp thế giới và hơn 100.000 đô được chuyển thẳng trực tiếp cho studio thông qua Paypal, vượt xa mục tiêu ban đầu của nó là 900,000 đô.
Wasteland 2 sẽ lấy bối cảnh hậu tận thế giống với Wasteland và tiếp tục câu chuyện đã diễn ra ở phiên bản đầu tiên. Chris Avellone, trưởng bộ phận sáng tạo của Obsidian Games cũng được xác nhận tham gia thiết kế và phát triển phần cốt truyện của game.
Ban đầu InXile đã dự định sẽ phát hành game vào tháng 8, nhưng rồi họ đã quyết định lùi lại đến tháng 9 để hoàn thành những phần quà dành cho người chơi đã giúp đỡ công ty trên Kickstarter.
