Điều gây ấn tượng nhất cho người chơi trong phiên bản demo này chính là gameplay rất dễ làm quen và cách điều khiển khá đơn giản. Người chơi không hề bị giới hạn về không gian xung quanh và nhà phát triển cũng đã tận dụng triệt để tính năng cảm biến chuyển động của hệ máy Wii để mang đến cho người chơi một chàng Rikimaru mới vô cùng uyển chuyển và nhanh nhẹn.

Bạn sẽ gặp lại mô típ nhiệm vụ quen thuộc trong các dòng game Tenchu từ trước đến nay: đột nhập vào dinh cơ của một gã nhà giàu và bí mật ra tay ám sát hắn ta ngay giữa vòng vây thị vệ .

Ẩn nấp cũng là một nghệ thuật.

Ngay từ khi bắt đầu màn chơi đầu tiên, có thể khẳng định rằng cơ chế đồ hoạ riêng biệt chính là điểm khác biệt của Tenchu 4. Môi trường trong game không quá lộng lẫy với những hiệu ứng bắt mắt nhưng lại mang đến cho người chơi sự thoải mái và cảm giác dễ chịu. Bên cạnh đó, một số tính năng mới cũng được bổ sung để hỗ trợ tối đa cho người chơi.

Hệ thống quan sát đặc biệt trong Tenchu 4 giúp Rikimaru nhanh chóng phát hiện ra mọi nguồn sáng trong tầm mắt được bao quanh bởi vầng hào quang xanh cũng như tên lính gác được phát sáng với một vầng hào quang đỏ. Có những lúc, bạn quan sát thấy rằng nơi mình đứng quá sáng; tất cả những gì bạn cần làm đơn giản chỉ là thổi tắt những ngọn nến của những chiếc đèn lồng để không gian tối đi một chút.

Dứt điểm kẻ thù ngay khi có thể.

Liên quan đến cách điều khiển trong Tenchu 4, chắc hẳn bạn sẽ không có gì quá ngạc nhiên khi biết mọi thao tác trong game đều được kiểm soát bởi Wiimote và Nunchuk. Nunchuk chủ yếu dùng để tiến lên hoặc lùi lại trong game, trong khi đó Wiimote sẽ cho phép bạn thực hiện các động tác phức tạp hơn như nhảy (hất tay cầm lên cao) hoặc lăn tròn trên mặt đất.

Điểm đặc biệt trong thao tác điều khiển của Tenchu 4 chính là việc một số động tác di chuyển trong game sẽ phụ thuộc vào môi trường xung quanh nhân vật.

Stealth kill là ngón nghề không thể thiếu trong Tenchu.

Chẳng hạn, nếu bạn đang trốn trong một bụi cây và muốn di chuyển sang một bụi cây khác ở bên phải, bạn chỉ cần gạt Wiimote sang bên phải để Rikimaru thực hiện cú bay người khá ngoạn mục giữa 2 bụi cây. Ngoài ra, Wiimote đồng thời cũng là một món vũ khí hữu hiệu trong tay bạn.

Trong khi chiến đấu, bạn cần phải xoay Wiimote theo phương ngang để chặn những đòn tấn công từ phía đối thủ và xoay theo phương thẳng đứng để phản đòn. Tất cả các thao tác chiến đấu (tấn công hay phòng thủ) đều phải dựa trên tính chính xác về thời gian, yếu tố mà người chơi phải làm quen khi mới chơi Tenchu 4.

Kết liễu kẻ thù nhanh chóng với những cú ra đòn chính xác.

Nhắc đến Tenchu, chúng ta không thể không nhắc đến những pha 'stealth kill' đặc trưng của series game này. Những đòn kết liễu lén lút đòi hỏi ở người chơi sự thận trọng tối đa và một cổ tay linh hoạt.

Thật vậy, nếu muốn hạ gục kẻ thù của mình một cách nhanh chóng và im lặng, người chơi phải nhấn giữ nút A, đồng thời đi vòng ra sau lưng kẻ thù và dứt điểm một cách quyết đoán. Những tình huống 'stealth kill' chỉ diễn ra trong vỏn vẹn 0.25 giây nhưng hiệu quả là 100%.

Không phải mọi kẻ thù đều dễ đối phó.

Với cơ chế đồ họa được đánh giá tốt trên hệ Nintendo Wii cùng việc đơn giản hóa gameplay và cách điều khiển nhưng không hề làm mất đi tính lén lút, rình mò – cái "thần" của series game Tenchu, nhà phát triển Acquire chắc chắn sẽ không làm thất vọng những fan trung thành của tựa game gạo cội này với Art of the Ninja.

Vậy là mất đi 1 dòng game hay. Tớ chẳng ưa gì cái Wii nên cũng chẳng có ý định sắm nó, nếu phải sắm thêm 1 cái next-gen để chơi exclusive game thì chỉ sắm cái PS3 mà thôi.
