Mega Man 8, known as Rockman 8: Metal Heroes (ロックマン8 メタルヒーローズ, Rokku Man Eito Metaru Hīrōzu?) in Japan, is a video game released by Capcom. It is the eighth installment in original Mega Man series, and was originally released in Japan on the PlayStation on December 17, 1996. The following year, Mega Man 8 saw a release on the Sega Saturn and was localized for both consoles in North America and the PlayStation in PAL regions. Upon its release, Capcom reached the franchise's tenth anniversary. Mega Man 8 is the first game in the series made available on 32-bit consoles.
The plot begins as the robotic hero Mega Man is called to investigate a mysterious energy reading coming from a recent meteor crash on an island. Mega Man discovers that his arch nemesis Dr. Wily has beaten him there and immediately retreats with the energy source. Mega Man is charged with stopping Wily's evil plans to use the energy, as well as discover the purpose of a mysterious, alien robot found at the crashsite. Along with new animated cutscenes and voice acting, Mega Man 8 features improved graphics and sound when compared to previous iterations in the series. Aside from a few minor conventions, the game utilizes the same 2D side-scrolling and platforming formula established by its predecessors on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) consoles. As such, many reviewers were dismayed by the lack of innovation found in Mega Man 8, resulting in an overall average or mixed critical reception. However, the game was a moderate commercial success.

Mega Man X, known in Japan as Rockman X (ロックマンX?), is a video game developed by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It is the first game in the Mega Man X series. The first subseries of the popular Mega Man series, it was made primarily as a stepping stone between the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and SNES incarnations of the original series, as Mega Man games were released on the NES as late as 1993.
The game was first released on the SNES; it was published for the console by Capcom in the US and Japan, and later published in Europe by Nintendo that same year. It was then ported to the PC in 1995, remade in 2006 as Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (Irregular Hunter X in Japan), for the PlayStation Portable, and re-released on January 10, 2006 as part of the Mega Man X Collection for the Nintendo GameCube and the PlayStation 2.
Mega Man Maverick Hunter X (イレギュラーハンターX?, Irregular Hunter X) is an enhanced remake of Mega Man X developed by Capcom for the PlayStation Portable. Originally released on December 2005 in Japan and 2006 in US and Europe, it was re-released 3 years later for the PlayStation Network on October 29, 2009 as a downloadable title. Major differences include:
* 3D graphics
* Enhanced and remixed soundtrack featuring new versions of all songs found in the original game (except the password song)
* Re-arranged parts capsules, swapping what levels they appeared in. None of them are mandatory
* The Buster gained from capsule and Zero differ. The capsule version works like the SNES version, while the Zero version fires a larger red burst, rather than a chain of smaller ones.
* A reworked script and backstory.
* VAs for the characters.
* An anime OVA prequel titled, "The Day of Sigma".
* Anime FMV sequences.
* The ability to play as Vile, which includes over 40 new weapons, new music, slightly adjusted stage layouts, and re-worked enemy placement.
* The secret capsule that gives you the Hadoken ability from Street Fighter has been slightly changed in this version. It can also be saved.
Set a century after the events in the original Mega Man series, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a remake of the original SNES game Mega Man X, and details the story of Dr. Light's greatest creation: X, a robot with free will. Dr. Cain's discovery of X led to the creation of reploids, robots modeled after the design of X. When the maverick virus infects a group of reploids, they band together in a revolt against humanity. The call goes to the maverick hunters, X and Zero, to fight the Mavericks.
The game is a side-scrolling action game where the player controls X as he hunts the maverick reploids. Notable features include the ability to find enhancements to augment X's abilities, and the ability to absorb the powers of the maverick reploids X defeats. The original moves, such as dashes, wall jumps and charge shorts are still present.
The original flat backgrounds have been replaced by polygonal models, and the remake features enhanced explosions and generally more detail. Additionally, animated cutscenes and voice acting have been added. All weapon and armour upgrades have been relocated to new hidden areas, and there is a new mode: Vile, in which you can play the entire game as maverick Vile, with abilities Mega Man does not have. As a bonus, there is a demo of Mega Man Powered Up on the UMD - a remake of the very first Mega Man game.

Mega Man, known as Rockman (ロックマン?) in Japan, is a video game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It is the first game in the original Mega Man series and the entire Mega Man franchise. It was released in Japan on December 17, 1987, and was localized for North America in December 1987 and for Europe two years later.
The plot begins the everlasting struggle between the heroic, humanoid robot Mega Man and the evil scientist Dr. Wily. The game establishes many of the gameplay conventions that would define the original Mega Man series as well as its multiple subseries. A standard action-platform game, Mega Man features a somewhat non-linear setup whereby the player can choose the order to complete its six initial stages. With each "Robot Master" boss defeated at the end of a level, a unique weapon is added to the player's arsenal to be used against enemies. Mega Man was developed by a small team of people, which included significant involvement from artist Keiji Inafune. The game was produced specifically for the home console market, a first for Capcom, who had previously focused on arcade titles.
Mega Man was critically well-received for its overall design and has been noted for its high difficulty. Although it was not a commercial success, the game was followed by an abundance of sequels and spin-offs that are still being released to this day, many of which utilize the same graphical, storyline, and gameplay setups instituted by the 1987 game. Mega Man has since been included in game compilations and has been re-released on mobile phones and console emulation services. An enhanced remake for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) was released in 2006 with the title Mega Man Powered Up, or Rockman Rockman (ロックマンロックマン?) in Japan.
An enhanced remake titled Mega Man Powered Up (known as Rockman Rockman (ロックマン ロックマン, Rokkuman Rokkuman?) in Japan) was released worldwide for the PSP in 2006. The game features a graphical overhaul with 3D character models in a chibi-style with large heads and small bodies. Inafune had originally planned to make Mega Man look this way, but could not due to the hardware constraints of the NES.[45] There are two ways to play through the game: "Old Style" and "New Style". Old Style is comparable to the NES version aside from the updated presentation. New Style takes advantage of the PSP's entire widescreen and contains storyline cutscenes with voice acting, remixed music, and three difficult modes for each stage. This mode also adds two new Robot Masters (Oil Man and Time Man) and the ability to unlock and play through the game as the eight Robot Masters, Roll and Protoman. The stages in New Style differ in structure from those in Old Style by having pathways only accessible by certain Robot Masters. Mega Man Powered Up furthermore has a challenge mode with 100 challenges to complete; a level editor for creating custom stages; and a mode to distribute fan-made levels to the PlayStation Network online service. Mega Man Powered Up received mostly positive critical reviews, currently holding aggregate scores of 83% on GameRankings and 82 out of 100 on Metacritic. The remake sold poorly at retail, but was later made available as a paid download from the Japanese PlayStation Network. Capcom additionally translated Mega Man Powered Up into Chinese for release in Asia in 2008.
Dr. Light had an idea: He would build a bunch of good and handy robots to help him and others to make the world a better place. One of these robots is named "Mega" and is designed to help Light around the lab in various tasks. One day, evil Dr. Wily attacks the lab and turn all of the robots evil too. All except Mega. Dr. Light sends Mega to stop these robots and thus, Mega Man is born.
Mega Man: Powered Up is a semi-remake of the original Mega Man. There is an "Old Mode", where one tackles the adventure just like it was in the olden days, with the exception of an added feature to save game. The graphics are souped up, but the level layout is basically the same than in the original with a few minor changes here and there. Then there's the "New Mode" which also features the original level themes and bosses but the levels themselves are boosted with various hidden areas and features which are mostly impossible to get to with Megaman only. The Player must defeat the bosses after which they'll be available as playable characters and use their special abilities to find everything in every level.
The third mode is the Challenge Mode where there is 100 different challenges to tackle and in which one has to dispatch as many enemies as possible in a given amount of time, get to the specific goal in a given amount of time and so on.
In addition to these two main game modes, there is a level editor that can be used to build the Megaman level of one's dreams and play it or send it to the internet where other gamers can download and play it.
