A red mobile suit that appeared in UC 0085, shrouded in mystery and known for its elusive nature. It is speculated to be the RX-78-02 Gundam, originally developed by the Federation during the One Year War but seized by Zeon during its final testing phase. Zeon modified the unit, repainted it red, and designated it as Char Aznable's personal mobile suit. Additional upgrades included the Alpha-Type Psycommu system and psycommu-linked remote-controlled terminals called "BITs."

During the latter stages of the One Year War, at the Second Battle of Solomon, an event known as the "Zexovia Phenomenon"(Sp?) occurred, resulting in the disappearance of both the unit and Char. Its whereabouts remained unknown until it reappeared at SIDE 6, piloted by Shuji.

Among its enhancements were the Alpha-type psycommu system and Bits, advanced wireless weapons linked to psycommu technology.
