Avoid Skill Point Screen Lockup
As you may or may not know, if you set all your skill points to 100 and then advance to another level you'll have more skill points to add but not be able to place them as everything is already maxed out. You will then be stuck on that screen since you can't finish adding all the points to your skills (NOTE: This can also happen on the SPECIAL and TAGGED screens).
To help avoid this you can reduce the number of skill points before a level up by entering the standard code "player.setav <ability> <negative number>" So for example just before a level up I would enter "player.setav barter -23" to reduce my barter points by 23, allowing me to place the 23 skill points I'm about to get for my level up. NOTE: When you use the "Negative" number on a tagged skill, you'll loose the points you subtracted AND the tagged bonus points.
This does NOT appear to work once the skill point placement screen is visible so if you don't do it before that happens you'll have to reload your last save.
I would assume placing a negative number would work to reduce the SPECIAL points as well but have not tested it.
As an alternative, once you max out your players stats you could also use the "player.setlevel 20" to set yourself at level 20, avoiding any further need to place points. Again, I'm unsure of any quests or in game items that might invoke the point placement screen so the above tip still might be useful if running into that situation.
