Let’s put those live-action Resident Evil movies out of our minds, and consider the potential of Degeneration. Not to be confused with the seminal Australian comedy program, Resident Evil: Degeneration is an all-new CGI movie set in the proper Resident Evil universe — not the Milla Jovoverse.
It will star rendered simulacrums of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as they struggle to survive in a Midwestern airport overrun with zombies. As to its quality, we have every reason to believe it will stink.
Glancing over the credits is enough to instill grave misgivings. After all, it’s directed by no-name Makoto Kamiya, responsible for the dire ‘L Change the WorLd.’ Worse, it’s being produced by the same outfit that made the last two Appleseed movies — glossy, but soulless tech-demos devoid of cinematic oompf.
Sony Pictures has so little hope for the film that even its domestic release is being buried. Resident Evil: Degeneration is getting an extremely limited cinema release in Japan, screening in three cities for a mere two weeks from October 18. It’s almost as if they’re convinced it’s going to bomb.
If you’d like to see what it looks like for yourself, there’s a teaser trailer up at the official website. There are a few nuggets of intrigue in the production blog, too, as it goes into great detail about the zombie voice recording process.
Makoto Kamiya cũng là đạo diễn có tiếng ở Nhật chứ làm gì no name,lên imdb searh là biết,chưa kể Jun Takeuchi sx thì cũng đáng kì vọng đó chứ,đồ họa thì phải coi hd mới đánh giá đúng được.Còn câu Sony hope ..nghe là biết quăng bom gòiLet’s put those live-action Resident Evil movies out of our minds, and consider the potential of Degeneration.
