Mở Properties shortcut của HL2, trong dòng Target thêm -console vào cuối cùng. VD: "C:\Program Files\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -console. Nếu bạn không chơi được file hl2.exe thì bỏ qua bước này.
Nhấn Apply để save lại. Khi chơi nhấn ~ để mở bảng console và điền các code dưới vào:
sv_cheats 1 - Kích hoạt cheat
god - Bất tử
give <tên đồ hoặc tên vũ khí> - Cho đồ hoặc vũ khí
buddha - Hồi phục máu
hurtme # - Tự làm mất máu (# là số máu bạn muốn giảm)
impulse 101 - Tất cả vũ khí
impulse 82 - Cho xe Jeep
notarget - Trở nên tàng hình đối với máy
noclip - Đi xuyên tường
maps - Cho xem list bản đồ
map <tên bản đồ> - Chuyển bản đồ (xem list dưới)
developer # - Đặt chế độ developer (0 là tắt, 1 là bật)
+mlook - Bật kiểu nhìn mouse look
hud_quickhelp/text? 1 - Chỉnh tâm ngắm
viewmodel_fov # - Chỉnh kích cỡ vũ khí bạn đang dùng (54 là cỡ chuẩn)
thirdperson - Góc nhìn thứ 3

To enable the console add -console to your launch options in properties in steam
play games TO ADD MORE THAN 1 COMMAND TO LAUNCH OPTIONS CHANGE THE PREFIX - TO + ON

In gameplay press the ` button (under the esc button) to bring up the console
To enable the cheats first you must enter sv_cheats 1 into the console
Enter these codes into the console in get desired effect:

Open Steam, go to your "Play Games" menu, and select Half-Life 2: Episode One.
Right click on it and select "Properties". Click the "Launch Options" button
then type -console. Click "Ok", then close.
Double click "Half-Life 2: Episode One" to start the game. Once it is loaded and
you are playing, press ~ to display the console window. Then, enter sv_cheats 1

Right-click on the Half-Life 2 icon on your desktop,
select Properties and a new screen should pop up. Add the " -console" parameter
(without the quotes) at the end of the target field.
Now start the game with this icon. When the game started you can view the console
window. Here add "sv_cheats 1" (without the quotes) and press submit button.
After that u can use all of the cheat codes of HalfLife2. Like:
