I've always wondered why katana blades are so highly regarded compared to other types of swords. From what I've learned, one of the biggest differences is their curved design, which allows for smoother cutting motions. Traditional katanas are also known for their balance, sharp edge, and craftsmanship.

Another interesting aspect is that not every katana is made the same. The steel, heat treatment, and overall construction all play a role in how the blade performs and how long it lasts. Modern replicas may look similar, but their quality can vary depending on the materials and manufacturing process.

For those who own or collect katana blades, what features do you think matter most? Is it the steel, craftsmanship, historical accuracy, or simply the overall design?
