'Project Beast' Screenshots Leaked: Possible PS4 Exclusive From Makers Of 'Dark Souls'

First off, the time period appears to be different, with what could be either shotguns or blunderbusses alongside cutlasses and other more traditional melee arsenal. The time period looks like it could be set in the same time period as the Solomon Kane stories—late 16th, early 17th century. Plumed hats and the like. It also looks to be more focused on horror elements, rather than medieval fantasy.

When Dark Souls II was announced we learned that Souls creator and director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, would not be leading the project. It was rumored that he was working on another project. There’s no telling if Project Beast is that project at this point, but it wouldn’t be surprising.
