Manchester City sign Brazilian full-back Danilo from Real Madrid
FIVE-YEAR DEAL
Manchester City have completed the signing of full-back
Danilo from
Real Madrid on a five-year deal.
The 26-year-old will join up with his new team-mates on their tour of the United States after agreeing personal terms and passing his medical at the Premier League club.
Danilo told mancity.com: “I am very, very happy to be joining Manchester City. There has been strong interest from other clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola. As soon as I heard of his interest, I knew immediately I wanted to be a City player.”
Danilo, whose move is subject to receiving a work permit, joined LaLiga champions Real Madrid for 31.5million euros in the summer of 2015 after helping Porto to back-to-back titles in the Portuguese top flight. City are reported to have paid Real £27million for the South American.

The Brazil international started his career at America Mineiro in his homeland and made the switch to eight-times Brazilian national champions Santos the following season before making the move to Spain.
He made 55 appearances for Real and joins City in top form after winning the Spanish title last season, while with Madrid Danilo also won two Champions Leagues, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
He hopes to enjoy similar success with the Blues, adding: “Collectively it was a great season because the team won LaLiga and the Champions League.
“You have to learn how to win and I love winning. Undoubtedly it was very important for me being on the pitch and always winning.
“(I am committed) to the club, to the city and to Pep’s managerial style, and all that helps the club win trophies.”
Danilo could come up against his former side as early as next week as City take on Real in Los Angeles in Wednesday’s pre-season match.
And he is looking forward to meeting up with his team-mates ahead of the new season.
He added: “The last days have been very long for me because I wanted to be here and meet my team-mates because they’re great players, and I want to help them face the new season.
“I had a few words with (City’s Brazilian midfielder) Fernandinho and I hope they help me settle down as quickly as possible.”
Danilo has predominantly played in the right-back position in the past but it is understood that Guardiola sees the Brazilian playing in a left-back role or that of a holding midfielder.
Kolarov joins Roma
Meanwhile, Manchester City defender
Aleksandar Kolarov has joined Serie A side
Roma on a three-year deal for a fee of £4.5m.
The 31-year-old, who played 247 times for City, won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups in his seven years with the club.
"I am extremely happy to be here," the Serbia full-back said. "I will give 100% and more for Roma. My objective is always the same: to win."

Arnautovic leaves Stoke to join West Ham for club record fee
PREMIER LEAGUE
West Ham have signed
Marko Arnautovic for a club record fee that will net Premier League rivals
Stoke up to £25million.
The 28-year-old Austria international has agreed a five-year deal with the Hammers, who will pay a guaranteed £20million with a further £5million payable on a conditional basis.
The forward, who joins Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta in signing for Slaven Bilic’s side this summer, told
www.whufc.com: “It feels special to me to be a West Ham player. Everyone knows that West Ham is a big club, with big history and I’m happy to be a part of it now. I can’t wait to get started.”

“I can only say it is a massive club with a lot of fans. They are crazy for football and this is what I like. The club is still growing, getting better and better and that’s why I’m here.”
Hammers joint-chairman
David Sullivan, who agreed a deal that should trump the £20.5million paid to Swansea for Andre Ayew last year, added: “We’re delighted to have completed Marko’s transfer from Stoke City.
“Alongside Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart we have brought in three players with vast Premier League experience this summer, and that was one of our key targets as we look ahead to the new season.
“Marko will bring plenty of quality to our front line and I’m excited to see him in a claret and blue shirt.”
Arnautovic, who has won 62 caps for his country, joined the Potters from Werder Bremen in 2013, scoring 26 goals in 145 appearances for the club.
