During Horii’s latest “KosoKoso Hōsō Kyoku” talk show livestream, the series’ interviewer mentioned she was curious about the current buzz surrounding Chrono Trigger and whether it was “foreshadowing” for something bigger. When Horii asked what she meant by “buzz,” former Shonen Jump Kazuhiko Torishima (another regular member of the talk show) cited a few recent Chrono Trigger-related projects, such as character popularity polls and orchestral concerts planned for 2026. After Horii acknowledged that the concerts would take place next year, he was then asked by Torishima if there were going to be any developments in the franchise after the celebrations.
To this, Horii replied with “I can’t talk about that,” before immediately becoming flustered, jokingly adding comments like, “Wait, if I say that, you’ll figure it out!,” “Don’t ask!,” Asking is off-limits!,” and “I’ll get in trouble!”. The whole panel then burst out in laughter and moved on with the show. Before the topic was switched, however, Torishima cheekily comments “There’s something,” signaling his belief that a potential remake may be on its way.
