Is there splitscreen?

There is none. Not on any version.

Are there airplanes?

There are none.

Are civilians "invincible"?

Yes. You still lose money for harming them. They get up after about 15 seconds.

Do know about cheats for mercs 2 not to give us codes but do know that there are any?

There are none.

Seriously. I asked Rick and he said "None."

I thought he was joking. I asked again at the panel interview. He was dead serious.

Is there a day/night cycle

No. Certain areas do turn dark, as many of you speculated in the other threads. There is no "cycle" however. The lighting does change based on location, however.

Is the Zippo lighter still in the game and can we light oil trails?

The zippo lighter didn't make the cut. Rick stated they were already pushing the limits, and to add something so program intensive and time intensive from a development stand-point to create a lighter and an oil trail for the same character that can call in a nuke was not a good return on invested time and energy.

Impact Destruction?

Yes. It's in there.

How many vehicles/airstrikes/weapons are there?

There are 165 vehicles.

There are 40 + Weapons.

There are 20+ Airstrikes.

What was the coolest gun you used?

Probably the grenade launcher. I loved that thing! It has great range, good power, and takes skill to use but isn't impossible.

Was Sleff There?

Yes, he was, and he says hello to everyone many times over, and expresses his thanks for how awesome you are!

Was Laz?

Did you tell him we miss him? (Sleff and Laz)

I talked to Lazlowe the day before I left and he knows you guys miss him. He misses you too. He wasn't there for this event as he had a prior engagement.

Did you sail a warship (besides the Chinesse missle boat?)

Um... To my shame, I never actually made it that far. Dude, I could not even find the water.

did u ask ifpandemic would update the site like put more vids up?

We spoke about that. You are, as ever, their priority. Stuff is on the way!

Can we stick C4 on people?

Any time I went near someone with C4 in my hands they ran the other way. So I don't know, because I couldn't get close enough/aim my C4 well enough to land on one of them.

How were the pistols?

They're fairly effective surprisingly. They're not worthless. If you like pistols they're worth stealing/buying. They were useful. And to complete some of the challenges we will need some pistol skill.

This game will be awsome, but alastor, When you were playing did you ever think, "oh, i wish there were planes", or "man, why did the zippo need to be cut"?

No. It never even entered my mind. The choppers work well enough and get very high. The cars are in some cases, absurdly fast. The area is so interesting I never wanted to get out of sight of it anyway, because the game world is that full of life!

Not once did I miss it. I'm glad they're not in the game, because I didn't think they'd be nearly as useful in this version as some folks did, and I wanted the resources put into a quality game rather than a game with a lot of bells and whistles that subsequently, did not work.

I got my wish!

How does the cover system work?

I don't know. I kept getting killed... Sorry guys. I told you I sucked at these...

What is the new tether distance on Co-op?

500 meters

How has the health system changed from Mercs 1?

Oh it ROCKS!

Okay, so in the last game if you took it in the keester with a bomb or something, you dropped to 1 health. Then another would come and you'd go back down to 1 health, and so on - sometimes making it very difficult to die.

Not so this time around! Each character has a rate at which they recover health, and the first strike will indeed put one in the red zone - and then if another is taken it is all over but the cryin'!

However, finding a hiding place and staying out of trouble allows for some health recovery as well, so it's not as easy to get "trapped" as it was in Mercs 1 either. It just takes a bit of patience and then you're back in the battle.

Are the bullets still long yellow rectangles?

They are yellow, but the shape is hard to pick out because they move considerably faster than I recall them moving in Mercs 1.

How's the frame rate holding up?

Very well. I noticed absolutely no slow down at any stage, no matter what I did.

If you honk your horn will you still lose your vehicle disguise?

I don't know because I never drove well enough or smart enough to actually gain a disguise in the first place. Plus I kept shooting everything that moved. I came close once, and then I ran someone over.

Sorry about that.

No pop ups and no fram rate issues? Thats a little too good to be true for a sandbox game.

Well, you might see something I didn't. I saw no issues at all. Not once.

Do officers return from mercs 1 and spot your disguise.

Officers - if they're even present - are normal just like everyone else. Your disguise is based on your actions, not their rank.

At least that's my understanding. See "Crappy driver" details as to why I can't personally vouch for it.

Danggg! The game world must be really huge if you couldn't find any water. lol

Oh! I did find some water now that I think about it. But it was in co-op mode and the other dude was WAY ahead of me... I don't even know where we were.

I forgot I did find the water until... I died... Again...

We now know that you can't fly airplanes, but can you be able to shoot them down?

I don't know. I never saw one. They do appear on your radar sometimes as scenery and such however. But I never moved fast enough to see one.

This is why I play poker instead of Madden. Okay, I play Madden too.

I lose a lot...

Anyways, I was supposed to ask, why was the PS3 running Mercs 2 on a smaller screen than the 360? And does the game support 1080P?

Because that's where that TV landed? It was pretty random. The night before we all got to play they were up till pretty late setting things up for us. The TVs were late to arrive. I don't know why that machine got hooked to that TV. I didn't even realize there was a PS3 version there. I only sat in the one chair most of the time.

how are the skirmishes are they random or scripted and do they escalate

also any sign of an apache

Um... I didn't see one, but I couldn't get very far either. I'd be shocked if there wasn't something like it.

The battles, I don't know. Honestly I didn't have time to sit there and sneak up and watch the AI. I also never made it very far. I think the farthest I made it from a start point until I died was maybe... Maybe 2k, and Rick had to help me get there with his Dev tools because yes, I **** that bad.

what was the coolest vehicle you commandeered?

I can't answer that. The coolest one I am willing to talk about was probably one of the UP pickup trucks that resemble Avalanches. Of course the tank was AWESOME too! And the boat worked really really well!

Dude, tough question! I even loved driving the jeep!

oh, and are you able to hold onto your airstrike beacon, or is it an automatic throw? and if it is automatic, does it get annoying at all?

I don't know. I never got far enough to unlock Ewan, much less Mischa.

what happens to the destroyed buildings? Do the buildings just reappear after a certain period of time or is it tied to distance?

The destruction persists until you re-start the game.

How robust is vehicular damage? Like doors, tires, glass, fenders falling off?

VERY.

Fenders, hoods, lights - it all flies off! Bullet holes stay in cars and the glass. Dents, scratches, pieces fall off (especially if I drive).

Can you load guys up in the back of a truck

I don't know. Everyone I saw was trying to kill me.

i wonder, i know you said you didnt see water, but did you perhaps see angel falls?

No... I didn't see it. Sorry.

V-22 Osprey? And Demo?

Not that I saw on the Osprey or Phoenix. I'm not answering about a demo.

On the old site in the faqs section of the site a dev said something like "Light up a trail of oil with your zippo lighter". And did they also take out the ability to shoot a cars tanks of gas so it leaks oil? Theres no zippo so they probably did but it would be cool to shoot it to light it.

No, there's no loose oil flowing around that I saw, but that's not to say there is none. I just didn't see any. I mostly saw the "mission failed" screen.

Did you happen to find out what the other airstrikes were, Alastor? I think most of them have already been revealed except for three.

I can find out. I was told but don't recall.

What about the ability to call in the moab with something other than a grenade?

And how did the automatic grenade toss work out?

I didn't notice an automatic grenade toss. I honestly didn't. I did throw grenades, however. If it was automatic, then okay. But I was getting shot like constantly, so I didn't exactly have time to sit there farting around.

I never got a MOAB. I saw one (I think) sitting on the ground. I of course... Died. I didn't have Ewan unlocked to come and get it anyway. I was gonna blow it up, but I croaked first.

The boat? You just said you never seen water. Get some sleep man.

Oh. I did and I didn't. The first mission you use a boat for about ... 200 M. I ran into EVERYTHING - rocks, the shore, other crap in the water.... I managed to beach myself near the target though... Then I hoofed it on land the rest of the way.

Can you be the gunner in single player while the A.I. is driving?

Dunno. I kept running over my dudes... I said I sucked, right? We've been over this?

Are there rolling waves or is the water almost flat like in Mercs 1? (Based on the little bit of H2O you even saw.)

There are waves.

do semi trucks stil have the capability to latch to other trailers, like gas tanks

Dunno. Never got close enough to a semi. The world is really that damned big, guys.

Alastor what about the ammo and health pickups do they still have flying shapes fly out?

Yes. I do not know if that's a toggle though.

And also can we turn the hud off to a certain degree?

I don't know. I'm sorry. I tried to ask all I could. You guys had over 2000 questions...

does vehicle traction change with the terrain? like is it harder to control on dirt than pavement?

YES! Very much so! Certain vehicles don't miss a beat off road. Others, you may as well get out and walk!

What happens when you die?

You come back at the PMC... Well, I did anyway.

Do the soldiers from each faction vary? i.e. their uniforms, voices, faces, skin color?

Yes

What version of the game did you play? (360, PC, PS3?)

360

Did you make any trees burn down?

Greenpeace has a price on my head.

Is there napalm in the game or a flamethrower? (Sorry if this has been asked theres so many questions to keep up with)

No flamethrower. I have to check on napalm.

how easy is it to destroy buildings?

It depends entirely on the building. Some I ran over. Some I took out with a c-4. Some I could not bring down with my limited weaponry.

Can you jump?

Yes.

Is there a new sprint feature and is there a limit?

Yes, you can sprint. No, I did not detect a limit.

Can we pop the tires on cars?

I didn't notice. With a rocket launcher, everything "pops."

How was the PMC, and what can we do there?

You can:

Gamble with Fiona and take training missions on (shooting at statues and such). If you beat the time based on the wager you get paid. Otherwise Fiona gets your cash.

Change clothes.

Steal Fiona's car - which now that I think about it, is a Phoenix!

Blow crap up!

Um... And other stuff. I didn't get much time to explore. You can indeed waste the entire innards of your PMC, however.

I didn't have the munitions to try to blow it up as you guys asked me to, however. I simply didn't have a bomb that would work.

How is oil used in the game?

You can find it in small chunks (gas cans) off some vehicles or laying around. Sometimes there's tanks - lots of tanks - of oil. You have to have Ewan come get those. I didn't unlock Ewan, so I don't know how that works.

Has the stealth aspect been addressed or improved?

Very much so! You can indeed do stuff without being seen. Or so I was told anyway. I just kept running into hostile areas pretty blatantly.

do you see blood come out of a body when you shoot it

do the bodies disapear, or stay there till you reset the game

I saw no blood at all.

The bodies, if I recall right, went away fairly quickly.

what did you have to eat while you were there?

I had this really, really weird crap. I think it's called "gourmet" or something. It's disgusting, small and stupid. Expensive too, apparently.

The next night we had steak though, and it was damned fine steak! Jim from Pandemic's marketing team and Jon from EA's community took us out. It was :awesome:.

It was very, very good.

Did you fail an action hijacking sequence? The way you describe yourself I can imagine so.

Yes!

But I got some right too. This is really cool, guys! This is awesome!

Okay, so you go to jack a vehicle or call in an airstrike. The minigames start. You have to press, toggle, hold - whatever the instruction is. Do it in the right order, but the order never changes. The hijack sequence for a jeep for example, will always be the same. This way, if you use something a lot you get really good at it.

If you grab one and win the minigame, the animations are totally awesome and some are very very funny! But if you win, it also goes faster next time.

If you lose (which I did a lot of), it goes slower next time. In this way, even people like me can keep up!

I'm new but I wanted to ask if the car, boat, and helicopter control is more arcadey or realistic?

A little bit of everything. "Balanced" is how I'd describe it. Seriously, I think these are the best vehicle physics for a game I've ever seen!

I don't know if this was asked but, who did you play as?

I did some time as Jen and some as Chris. Jen was harder, but I wasn't using her right either. Chris carries more ammo.

Alastor: How about Parachutes?

No, only the AI can use them.

do we have still have hope for little cheat boy. Perhaps cheat weapons drop

There are collectibles in the game that will open up cheat stuff for you. There are no cheat codes however, the game doesn't need them.

Here's why:

After you beat the game you can play through again with everything you have collected so far. All your weapons that you bought, airstrikes, cars, whatever. It's all there with you!

There's not a need for cheats!

srry to make another thing u have to answer ala but how many recruits r there?

I think there is Eva, Mischa, and Ewan.

in some of the videos damage was not being taken when the character was hit and the ammo wasn't running out. Were these just programer tools or are there cheats. and if you put enough c4 under something can you blow it into outer space like in mercs 1.

Dev tools as far as I know. As far as I am aware, there are no cheat codes in the game that we can activate as players, and I somehow suspect they'd have taken me aside and told me if that wasn't the case.

On the C4, I believe you can still sky-rocket stuff into outer space!

when will the downloadible content be available?

They weren't ready to talk about DLC.

2 types of grenades?? stun and frag or there more?

I don't know. I just chucked stuff and watched things explode. I don't even know if there's multiple grenade types.

Once the game does release, can you tell us what you couldn't beforehand?
I'm not looking for insight to the game, I just want to hear what they didn't want people telling. I think people would find it interesting.

I can tell you right now why I can't tell you.

Because I mean every word I say about how much Pandemic appreciates you all, and they don't want to mislead you or set you up for disappointment. Do we make mistakes? Sure. All game companies do. But we try to limit those mistakes.

So ideas that are on the table are often shared so we're prepared for them, but we don't know exactly how it will pan out (see Eva for details). We work very, very hard to make sure you know you can trust us to deliver the best product we can, the product you expect, and the kind of care and concern that you guys deserve for being so loyal and devoted for this long.

So the last thing we want to do is harm our credibility, your trust in us, or mislead you - even on accident.

Mistakes do happen. There's no way around that. But by and large when we tell you something here on the forums you can pretty much bank on it. We'd like to keep it that way.

And that is why we usually say, "No comment."

We try not to answer, unless we know it's the right answer. We have a very, very special community. We want to keep it that way.

alastor dose each mission have heaps of enemy in them

Hell yes...

Tons. TONS!

It is very populated, or else the smoke and mirrors are so good they'll certainly fool us for a while.

It was enough to keep me pretty much dead for an hour or two.

is ther a difficuly setting when you start the games.

No. There's one difficulty.

However, certain things like the mini-games do adapt to the player. You can also wager Fiona on three levels when you're at your PMC, and each level is a bit harder than the previous one.

In-so-far as that goes, that's the only "difficulty setting" that I am aware of.

How many bountys are in the games or are there none?

There are about 50 HVTs in the game.

When you run over a civilian vehicle with a tank and or monster truck, Does the vehicle get crushed under the weight? (like does the car get crumbled or does it just blow up)

I tried to run one over. They're much brighter this time around. They're hard as crap to run down! Rather than running towards us like last game, they run away. No kidding. I tried and tried to get one, and they all drove away from me. I never even came close.

How many weapons can you carry on your person at any one time? Basically are pistols a primary weapon, or can you carry them aswell as two weapons on your back?

I believe they are primary, but they're pretty good weapons too. Not like normal "this sucks" pistols. Like they actually can shoot things and it's worth carrying. In my perception at least.

What are cities like?

Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. You guys seriously have to see it to believe it. UP's HQ is beautiful, and so are all the buildings around it. It looks real - better than real. It's honestly very stunning. There are very vivid colors and great art to the buildings. The streets look realistic. It looks ... Real!

But I was watching my tv and I want ask you are ther forbiden zones like in Mercs 1 where the Chiniese made the airport forbiden are there any in Mercs 2

Not that I saw. We do have to unlock areas as we go along though by completing certain missions or tasks. What happens is if we get too far into an area we're not supposed to be in the screen turns "snowy" like bad reception on a TV is how I would say it.

I didn't run into any "restricted areas" per se, though.

Thanks for answering my question. You say they're worth carrying; are there any advantages to carrying them instead of say, an ak and a grenade launcher.

None that I saw.

Hey Alastor, did u load up ur soldiers ever like in a vehicle

No, I didn't. I never got any soldiers. I don't even know if they exist.

do you think it would be easier to kill enemys with headshots?

I know it is. I definitely got a few head shots in with all kinds of weapons, and they definitely went down easier with head shots.

Although, that might just be my mind playing tricks on me, but they definitely seemed to go down easier with head shots to me.

So alastor how about those missiles on the back of the scud launchers. Could you launch them?

I couldn't find any.

are there any military boats because the only ones i've seen are civilian

That I do not know.

I'd presume so. I did see what I thought was a light patrol boat.

Can you derail a Train?? Any Trains in the game??

I didn't see any. If I had, it probably would have hit me. I am truly awful at these kinds of games, guys.

What version od Havok does Mercs 2 use?

Havok 5.0 is what Cameron told us, and I think he'd know.

can you still survive a airstike on yourself but die when you jump from a heli?

I don't know. I didn't get far enough to be able to test either one of the two.

can we drive through walls of an building with an tank?

No, sadly. It seems to be that if you can drive through the building you drive through the whole thing, destroying it in the process.

Alastor can you explain the stockpile system? Can we still steal bombs and take them back to our stockpile? And if we don't have any cluster bombs for example would we not be able to call in an airstrike? Or would we be able to purchase one from another faction?

Okay, so let's say I was out in the field. I find a small bunker. I do my battle thing and I whack some dudes. I get their base, right? Actually they're all dead and there's no base left, but you get the idea.

I clear the area.

So I have Ewan unlocked by completing the task that unlocks him (very early in the game).

I go over to it and the action button icon pops up telling me I can call Ewan to come get it.

He flies in, and presuming he lives he picks it up and flies it back home.

I now have 1 of whatever it is I just picked up that I can call in - if I also have the oil and the cash it takes to use that bomb.

When you beat the game you can either stay in your current game or continue to a new game. If you continue to a new game, you take your stockpile with you.

what could you do if you stayed in your current game?

like what missions?

The same thing we did in POD? Collect more crap, kill more dudes, blow stuff up? Hunt down hidden items/collectibles?

How does the store work?

So you can then go to their store (each faction has one), and make purchases of what they have available to you (depending on what missions you completed for them).

Their disposition towards you affects how much the stuff costs. If they're too pissed they won't deal with you at all I don't think. I could be wrong but I think this is the case. I need to check the audio when I do the transcript.

Anyway...

So their mood changes the price. The missions you've done for them changes what's available.

One of the game team that I asked said they believed it took more than one play-through to open everything up for purchase.

But okay, let's say I am pals with with PLAV and they offer me something cool to buy. I buy 20 of them - whatever it is. Then I get them really mad at me. They may not sell me stuff any more, or it's really expensive.

That sucks.

But I still have whatever I already bought!

Is there any wildlife in the game?

There is background wildlife. Nothing you can kill, however. I saw something that flies. Either a very very big butterfly or a bird. They were in the woods. Everything was blowing up though so I didn't get much time to go look at them. They are definitely not interactive, however. Just scenery.

Now that I think about it I do vaguely remember that. Anyways, what's the melee combat like? Is there just a rifle butt/pistol whip?

Yes. That's all I saw at least.

Did the AK-47 typed thing have a drum?!?! Please say yes!

I'm so sorry, I honestly don't remember! Things were happening so fast and I was trying to do so many things... I really don't remember all the details.

I am soo excited for this game and to play all day forweeks on end. So how was your experience??

Fantastic!

I spent today trying to muster the words to send out proper thank yous to everyone I owe them too, and the list is too long and the words don't exist to be able to give the proper amount of gratitude I feel towards everyone involved in this project.

These folks have a tremendous amount of character, my sincerest thanks and my deepest respect.

did you see any mini battles between fractions, that you could stand back & watch. Then take out both sides with a Sneaky air strike??

Not so much... They seem to aim at whomever they are the most angry at, and with my driving skills it didn't take me long to run over enough people to make sure I was first on the hit-list.

did you find info on the Limited Edition.
Also what was the AI like, especially civilian AI?

I didn't get a chance to ask about limited edition. I mean seriously, I was firing questions as quickly as possible, and I didn't have time to ask them all, guys. They even cut us extra time.

The AI was very good. If the civies are standing around and fighting breaks out, they bolt out of the way! It's very refreshing!

They talk too, but I don't recall what they say right off-hand. Some of it's funny; I remember that much!

How long did you play for? And also did you get to see water? Did it look nice

The water looked excellent! I didn't get in it very much or play in it at all. But the starter missions takes us over water at first and it's pretty stunning!

And finally...how's the Venezuela setting feel? Is it immersive? Good location for Mercs 2?

Very much so. They picked a great location and made it even better through fiction. It's pretty damned awesome! "Diverse" is a word I'd use. "Alive" is another. A huge game, but with something always nearby to discover. At least in the bit I played.

But to destroy the sections of the building, how much damage do i have to do with collapsing the whole thing?

If I understand you right, you mean "In comparison to blowing up the entire thing, how much damage does it take to bring down one section?"

I think that's what you're asking, so that's what I'll try to answer.

This is hard for me to estimate. I don't know how potent each weapon is against a building. Some weapons are useless against buildings but great against infantry for example. Some won't hurt infantry much at all, but will destroy every piece of armor in site!

So it depends on the weapon's properties too. And how potent it is. It also depends on the structure being hit as some structures have different properties.

But ballpark I would say that you can bring down a section of a building with about 20 to 30 % of the firepower you'd need to take out the whole thing if you were to do it all at once.

is the grappaling hook in the start of the game

I think so. If not, I'll be damned if I know where I got it.

It's fun to swing around on too. You kind of do a "Tarzan" in the air with it, and I think you can stop grappling mid air and fall on things (like a Spider-man kind of thing to get on top of something).

I love you alastor!!!!

We love you guys too!

I was told that, verbatim, from the very very highest levels! Everyone from the top down!

to be continued...

Any time I went near someone with C4 in my hands they ran the other way. So I don't know, because I couldn't get close enough/aim my C4 well enough to land on one of them.

However, finding a hiding place and staying out of trouble allows for some health recovery as well, so it's not as easy to get "trapped" as it was in Mercs 1 either. It just takes a bit of patience and then you're back in the battle.

How's the frame rate holding up?

Very well. I noticed absolutely no slow down at any stage, no matter what I did.

Do officers return from mercs 1 and spot your disguise?

Officers - if they're even present - are normal just like everyone else. Your disguise is based on your actions, not their rank.

At least that's my understanding. See "Crappy driver" details as to why I can't personally vouch for it.

Yes

Did you make any trees burn down?

Greenpeace has a price on my head.

Is there napalm in the game or a flamethrower?

Do you see blood come out of a body when you shoot it?
Do the bodies disapear, or stay there till you reset the game?

I saw no blood at all.

The bodies, if I recall right, went away fairly quickly.

Did you fail an action hijacking sequence?(mini game đó)

How about Parachutes?

No, only the AI can use them.

Does each mission have heaps of enemy in them?

Hell yes...

Tons. TONS!

It is very populated, or else the smoke and mirrors are so good they'll certainly fool us for a while.

It was enough to keep me pretty much dead for an hour or two.

Real!

Is the grappaling hook in the start of the game?

I think so. If not, I'll be damned if I know where I got it.

It's fun to swing around on too. You kind of do a "Tarzan" in the air with it, and I think you can stop grappling mid air and fall on things (like a Spider-man kind of thing to get on top of something).

OK...đã tóm gọn ý chính rồi đó:whew:.À cho hỏi ý kiến các bác là nên xóa cái bài ban đầu ko,sợ bị MOD chém lắm:D

Are there airplanes?

There are none.

Are civilians "invincible"?

Yes. You still lose money for harming them. They get up after about 15 seconds.

Do know about cheats for mercs 2 not to give us codes but do know that there are any?

There are none.Seriously. I asked Rick and he said "None."I thought he was joking. I asked again at the panel interview. He was dead serious.

Is there a day/night cycle?

No. Certain areas do turn dark, as many of you speculated in the other threads. There is no "cycle" however. The lighting does change based on location, however.

Thất vọng..............................
