Someone told me today that I need a fu*king life.

Don't really care, dude! What kind of lunatic try to count the stars on city's night sky these days? All you can see is the brown sky of pollution anyway.

A practical kind? I don't know, but it would be hard pressed to count ALL the stars in a clear sky. A city's sky on the other hand...
 
Actually it's more reasonable to count the stars on polluted city sky. Provided you have no heavy clouds that night, only brightest stars would reach your eyes and make things easier.
