11/1 vừa qua Grepolis đã công bố server test phiên bản 2.0 hoàn toàn khác so với phiên bản hiện tại.
Được biết ver2.0 sẽ được ra mắt vào cuối tháng 1 năm 2011.
Gladiatus
Khác với Grepolis, gladiatus luôn cập nhật thông tin về những project hiện tại. Trong đó, nổi bật sẽ là hai mảng chính: expedition và dungeon.
Expedition

Expedition

Today I will show you some changes of the expedition system which will happen with the update.
Our general goal was to make the expeditions more attractive in concerns of gold, drops and challenge.
Furtheron the expeditions should from now on guide the players through the game. We reach this by giving each expedition area a level range.
That means, similar to the dungeons, you will encounter opponents of e.g. Level 1-8 in one area, in the next 9-17, and so on. In this way you will travel through all areas one after another.
This is a rough description of the changes, details will follow now.
To make all changes clearer, I added a screenshot. Unfortunately it is in German, but I will translate the 2 words for you.
(Angreifen = to attack; Lernchance = learning chance)
The first important difference is that there will be fixed opponents in each area.
Here your first enemy is the rat (which is, as an example, LvL2), followed by other creatures that only get shown after you have beaten the previous one. So if you beat the rat in this example, the question mark in the second image will disappear and show you the new opponent.
In each area the fourth enemy is a boss, recognizable by the golden pattern on the image.
What makes it interesting to beat the boss, will follow in the further explanation.
Now to the details:
The new expeditions follow the principle „Fight and learn!“.
For the players that means that you do not only make the next opponent available by beating him, but also his attributes and maybe some bonus. The bonus will be explained seperately.
Learning about the attributes:
When you fight the first time against a creature, you don’t see its name nor its attributes as skill, strength, agility and so on, meaning you dont know what to expect from it and so have a higher risk to loose.
With every fight against the same opponent, the bar below the image (where you see 0% on the screenhot now) fills up by 10%, showing you another part of its attributes. As soon as you reach the 100%, you have set free all its secrets.
The bonus:
As you see below the first image there are 4 symbols, each representing a bonus:
30% more gold, 10% higher drop chance, 30% more experience and 20% more honour.
The chance to get a bonus depends on the „learning chance“ („Lernchance“ on the screenshot), which itself is directly influenced by your intelligence. That means a well trained intelligence attribute results in a higher learning chance.
When you achieved the same bonus for all 3 normal opponents, the bonus will automatically be activated for the boss. Example: If you got the item drop bonus for opponent 1,2 and 3, you also have a 10% higher item drop chance in every fight against the boss. You still need a bit of luck, but if you are lucky you will receive an item with at least blue quality!
Summary:
- Attributes need to be found out through fights
- There is 3 normal NPCs and one boss in each area
- Each area covers a different level range
- There is 4 different bonuses
- Boss drops are always of blue quality (and soulbound)
If there are questions I’m happy to help your Admins / Community Managers answering them. It might need a day or two till they can get back to you, but be sure your questions will be answered.
As a little side info about the progress of the update:
We are in the testing time already, meaning there is a new version ready. But, as with all updates, there might still be some bugs that need to be fixed, some balancing that needs to be adjusted and so on. But we are closer than ever before to finally bring you some new stuff soon!

As promised I will present you some details about the first completely new dungeon.
To calm down many of you right away, the new dungeon will cover level 55 and 112.
That might sound little to the high level players among you, but we put a lot of effort in making this dungeon a real challenge. Together with some new special attacks / abilities and the evaluation of your strength,
it won’t be an easy task to beat the boss. Even a "lupi", player with the highest level worldwide, will have problems to be victorious!
So after the level question, now the short answer to the area question.
You will find the dungeon in Germania, to be precise, in the green forest.
As I mentioned in the previous post, I don‘t want to tell you too much about the new opponents and bosses. As a compromise, I will present you the ingame description of the "normal“ version (level55) , a picture of the boss and the working title of it.
In general we tried to rearrange the dungeons in a way so they follow a story line. This means they will be more connected to each other and give more an impression of a journey altogether.
But now to the ingame-description of the new dungeon. I added a screenshot of the german version in DE, even though you dont understand I will add it here too + the translation. The design of the menu on the screen might differ to the actual one that will be implemented.
Translation:
"A mystic place, which is flooded my magical energies.
An old stone formation, older than the roman empire itself.
The Germanic tribes get together here to sacrifice a maiden,
so the master of this place will point all its might against the roman empire.
You are just in time, but you can already smell the scent of death in the air."
The working title of the dungeon is "With all its might“, the title might still be changed.
What you are probably most interested in is the boss of the dungeon. As a change, I won’t give you neither name nor description of it. What creature it is exactly, and what special attacks it might have, is up to your imagination. I‘m looking forward to some nice discussions in the forums!
As an end to this post, I want to clear some things that came up after my last post.
Some of you got the impression that we are going the easy way and simply clone old dungeons and put a new name on them.
I can calm you down here, that’s not the case. That we have to recycle some dungeons, doesnt mean that we won’t offer you also a bunch of new dungeons and bosses. Also the new special attacks will give the whole new system an interesting touch. Depending on the boss, it could be possible that all mercenary classes are important, or on the other side maybe only one or two.
But about this I can’t tell you more right now, but as a little introduction it is fine I guess.
