Một nhận xét của người chơi Heroes of Ruin:
My Amazon copy arrived last night, and I shunted Tales of the Abyss (just started playing it finally) aside to give this game a whirl.
4 hours later, I was forcing myself to put it down and go to sleep. Seriously, I was very surprised. Bad graphics (some nice shader effects here and there though), terrible frame rate, garish art style, tepid and uninspired gameplay and skills.
But **** me if I wasn't having a blast. And the shit they pulled off re: networking is massively impressive given the platform and Nintendo's typically stillborn networking efforts. I was laughing as I booted up the game and fielded 5 or 6 sequential online connectivity related opt in / opt out queries, but once the game actually started, I was kind of blown away by what they devs pulled off.
Offline, online friends only, online regional, or online worldwide 4 player simultaneous full campaign coop with seamless drop in / drop out and out-of-the-box (no peripheral needed) live voice chat? And no friend codes? (I know that the 3DS killed off game-specific FCs, but still!) And I'm pretty sure that the encounters, difficulty, and loot all scale to the number of players currently in session! On the fly!
God damn.
The only thing that irks is that the heroesofruin.com account linking seems to be completely broken, mostly because the piece of shit site doesn't want to accept by Square-Enix Member account credentials.
I'll be putting it aside until I finish TotA. But I went from regretting that I forgot to cancel my preorder months ago to very pleasantly surprised, despite the clear jank. They've definitely raised the bar for what's possible re: handheld online coop gaming, and I can only hope this bodes well for what's to come (hopefully from more talented studios). Add to that the daily/weekly challenges and the seemingly (and seamlessly?) online-capable equipment shops and trading shops and... well. Like I said. Eye-opening. Not even the best Diablo-clone on say, iOS, can compete with the online mechanics built into the main Heroes of Ruin campaign.
