VOEZ announced for Nintendo Switch

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals Voez, a rhythm action game by Rayark previously released for smartphones, is coming to Switch via Flyhigh Works.

In addition to rhythm action playing a variety of songs, you’ll be able to enjoy the youthful story of the six boys and girls that make up the band “Voez.”

Development is currently 99 percent complete.

Update 6:40 a.m.: Voez will launch in Japan in March for 2,314 yen. The games features over 100 songs across various genres from Taiwanese and Japanese creators. The Switch version will feature new songs not available in the smartphone version.

Square Enix Announces New RPG Called Project Prelude Rune

Project Prelude Rune is a new RPG game project from Square Enix currently in development at the newly formed Tokyo-based outfit Studio Istolia.

On the game, Square Enix said: "The project aims to build a new RPG with a new fantasy: unfolding across a vast land teeming with life. Nurtured by the earth, the many peoples of this land dare to dream, fighting for what is just - and this is their tale."


Studio Istolia is headed up by Hideo Baba, best known for his time at Bandai Namco working on the Tales of franchise. The studio's aim is to "provide unforgettable stories that will inspire players in their own lives, and bring new game experiences to everyone around the world".

The studio is currently recruiting.

Dragon Quest X launches for PS4 this summer in Japan, between summer/fall for Switch

Dragon Quest X will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan around this summer and for Switch between around summer and fall, Square Enix announced.

The company also announced that service will end on the Wii version of Dragon Quest X, stating that in order to update the game to levels that cannot be done on Wii, it has decided to end service on the platform with the Version 3 period of the game. Square Enix is planning a campaign that will allow Wii users to easily migrate to Switch.

With today's video interview, we wanted to zoom out a bit speak with The Legend of Zelda's creator Shigeru Miyamoto and series producer Eiji Aonuma about the delicate balance of giving fans exactly what they want versus forging a new path and creating an unexpected gameplay experience. We talk about how the team is shifting away from elements of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and what details within Breath of the Wild best reflect their individual passions.

New details and sreenshots for 'Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers'

Last week, Capcom shared some additional details on Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers, and more precisely the Way of the Hado mode (road to Hado Mode). This mode (only available in the version of Nintendo Switch of the game) allows to fight against the waves of soldiers of Shadaloo like Ryu, and is played in first person. You can see some game sequences for that mode in the gallery below.

In addition to this mode, there is also a Practice mode (practice mode), which allows youto practice your moves. About XP, you can use them to improve the following parameters:

  • VITAL (health)
  • ATTACK
  • SPEED
  • GUTS
  • DEFENSE
  • LUCK
As for the many illustrations of the official artbook, found in the gallery, it is known that there are over 1400 of them. They are available in high resolution (250dpi), which means users can zoom in on each page to read the text.

Finally, on the Color Edit mode (color editing mode), which allows you to edit the colors of a certain character, Capcom specifies that can store up to 10 colors for each character. Of course, you can use your custom character in all game modes, including online.

NINTENDO FRANCE TALKS BIG SWITCH PREORDERS, SALES GOALS, THE LACK OF PACK-IN GAME AND MORE

The following comes from a Gamekult interview with Nintendo France’s Philippe Lavoue...

- with Switch, Nintendo is seeing pre-orders similar to those of Wii in France
- Nintendo expects to sell 800,000 units this year, which would be the lifetime sales of Wii U
- this includes 95,000 units on day one with a near 100 percent conversion rate with Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- gray is currently more popular than the neon option
- Lavoue thinks things will ultimately shift in the opposite direction
- from a financial perspective, Nintendo just couldn’t include 1-2 Switch in the package
- Zelda: Breath of the Wild being “exceptional” will help Switch
- 1-2-Switch itself is a strong proposition
- while Nintendo would have loved to include a game with Switch, it’s a more expensive console than something like Wii
- Nintendo realized that it needed a strong proposition with Switch
- with Wii U, being able to take a game with you around a room wasn’t enough
- while asymmetric gameplay was a nice idea, it was difficult to get across
- the quick turnaround from Switch reveal to release ultimately came down to the big developers and higher-ups at Nintendo
- working with retailers and distributors wasn’t an issue though due to the confidence these partners had in the console
- Lavoue was quick to point out that Mario Kart Wii sold three million copies in France while Mario Kart 8 is at roughly 350,000
- Lavoue also doesn’t see an issue with Zelda, since pre-orders on Wii U aren’t close at all to Switch
- regarding 3DS, Lavoue believes users of the handheld shouldn’t worry with Switch coming into the picture.
- the first half of 2017’s lineup is better than last year
- believes thinks three million 3DS games as well as 700,000 systems will be sold at a minimum

It did not feel that warm to the touch and the game was running really really smooth, you were to engaged in the game to think about the unit or how it felt in you hands. You can clearly see the CPU/GPU on the right side of the unit behind the screen. Working hard under 40°C.

Nintendo Switch CAT S60 Flir photo. Avg. 21.2°C Max. 34.5°C Min. 13.8°C. Undocked while being connected to a charger. The game looked really good in handheld mode (forgot if it was mirrored to the screen in front of me). I took the picture a bit to close, there are two cameras next to each other. One for heat + one for normal photos. That's why the picture looks weird.

It may seem like an odd concept to many but one Nintendo fan decided to take a thermal imaging infrared camera to a hands-on event and capture just how hot the Nintendo Switch console gets. The event was held in Sweden and Imgur user throwmeawaywouldyoukindly kindly uploaded his findings to his page.

The general consensus and what should be taken away from the images is that the Switch doesn’t get hot with average temperatures hovering around the 21-25 celsiuis range . Not surprising as Nintendo expect players to hold the console in their hands.
