Editor’s Workbench - Personal Life (FM08)
Add Your Own Objects
First of all, a special file is assigned to each category. All objects need to be put in these files.
In the first line of each file, you find the corresponding number of objects. The descriptions of the objects are listed underneath.
The corresponding pictures have to be copied into the Menu \user\objects\picture ( it is located in the FM Main Menu). Several objects can share a picture. All graphics have to be in a 820x510 format as .BPM or .TGA.

Add/Change cars
File: car.txt (FM Main Menu \user\objects)
Setup of line:
BMW M3,50000,m3.bmp,2005
Description:
Name of object in the game, price, name of graphic, ‘Year of Invention’.
Year of Invention
Note: The list has to be sorted by ‘Year of Invention’ of the cars. For example: You want a car to come up in the year 2010 and another one in 2020. You have to put these cars in the penultimate and last line of the list. If you disregard this, the appearance of the cars will be mixed up.
When finished editing, please count the exact number of cars and edit the number in the top line of the file. If the number is not edited, new cars may not appear in the game. If you reduce the number of cars without changing the number, the game may crash.
Save game:
Changes have no influence on a current save game. If you delete graphics, they will not appear in a current save game.

Add/change houses
File: house.txt (FM Main Menu \user\objects)
Setup of line:
Apartment,50000,40,apartment.bmp,2005
Description:
Name of object in the game, price, square metres, name of the graphic, ‘Year of Invention’.
The same rules as for cars apply.
In addition to the price, a value for space (in square metres), for additional furnishings (e.g. a winter garden) can be put in. Momentarily, we don’t use it but it may come in later versions in order to limit extra furnishings for apartments correspondingly.
----------------------------
Add/change furnishings
File: furnishings.txt (FM Main Menu \user\objects)
Line format:
Pool-table,3000,20,pool.bmp,0,2005
Description:
Name of the object in the game, price, space needed, name of the graphic, development of value, ‘Year of Invention’.
We have a special attribute here.
Development of value
The fourth attribute is the development of value of an object. If you put in a new object, you should mark it ‘1’, if it should have a positive development of value (e.g. a property). In case of an object which loses value (e.g. commodities), you should mark it ‘0’.

Add/change luxury
File: luxury.txt (FM Main Menu \user\objects)
Setup of line:
Golf equipment,5000,golf.bmp,0,2005
Description:
Name of the object in the game, price, name of the graphic, development of value, ‘Year of Invention’
Same applies as in furnishings.
