Phiên bản này vẫn sẽ đưa người chơi đến với cuộc trốn chạy bất đắc dĩ của thành viên lực lượng S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team là Rebecca Chamber và tù nhân vượt ngục Billy Coen khỏi bầy zombie đông đảo giống như phiên bản gốc, dĩ nhiên là đi kèm với nhiều cải tiến hợp thời như nâng cao chất lượng đồ họa và âm thanh, tinh chỉnh lại hệ thống điều khiển như Capcom đã từng thực hiện với phiên bản Resident Evil HD Remaster.
Đặc biệt hơn, trong phiên bản này bạn sẽ được tự tay điều khiển nhân vật phản diện quen thuộc của dòng game này là Albert Wekser cùng sức mạnh mà hắn có trong một mục chơi hoàn toàn mới mang tên “Wesker Mode”, hứa hẹn sẽ đem lại một trải nghiệm hoàn toàn mới lạ so với phiên bản gốc.
Hơn nữa, khi đặt trước phiên bản này trên tất cả mọi hệ máy (trừ Xbox 360), người chơi sẽ được tặng bộ trang phục của lực lượng Wolf Force cho nhân vật Billy, một chiếc áo phông có biểu tượng của Resident Evil 0 và một bộ trang phục hoạt náo viên dành cho Rebecca.
Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster sẽ được phát hành vào ngày 19/1 năm sau trên các hệ máy PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One và PC với giá là 19.99 USD.
Cùng lúc đó, phiên bản tổng hợp Resident Evil Origins Collection (gồm hai bản Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster và Resident Evil HD Remaster) cũng sẽ được phát hành, còn với thị trường Châu Âu sẽ là ngày 22/1.
