Đây là dòng game hardcore, chỉ dành cho người chơi yêu thích lịch sử và sự phức tạp. Game này lại là game phức tạp nhất nhì trên thế giới, chơi thử là dội liền. Muốn tập cho quen với sự phức tạp thì nên chơi Europa Universalis III trước.

Game này tập trung vào mảng kinh tế & cải cách xã hội (social reform), khác với HOI là game về chiến tranh hay EU thiên về dynasty building. Muốn chơi nổi game này phải hiểu về lịch sử, chính trị & kinh tế, kiểu như Laissez-faire khác State Capitalism làm sao, capital luân chuyển như thế nào,... Nói chung đúng như Snorlax nói, nên chơi những dòng game Grand Strategy đơn giản trước nhu Civ, Risk hay Imperialism.

Lúc đầu người dân có tiền để đóng thuế. Thuế cao quá thì tiền sẽ giảm dần vì phải mua đồ để sống. Khi hết tiền thì không đóng nổi thuế nữa.

Cái này có vẻ tập trung vào mảng kinh tế chính trị ngoại giao hơn là quân sự như HoI nhỉ. Cứ vác về, bao giờ mệt với khoản điều binh khiển tướng trong HoI thì chuyển qua thằng này cho đỡ chán
