FFXII sẽ được phát hành tại EU vào ngày 23/2/2007.Hiện nay FFXII đã bán được 4 triệu bản

Tin mới giật gân đây:
Một tờ báo của Đức đã đưa một tin gây shock(không biết đây có phải là báo lá cải không?).Theo tờ báo này SE đã bán đi một số tựa game lớn của mình:
-Đầu tiên là Chrono Trigger,cứ tưởng những thành viên của Mônlith trở lại SE thì đự án Chrono sẽ hồi sinh nhưng SE đã bán bản quyền game này cho Miskwalker.Nhiều khả năng sẽ có Chrono Trigger II(chứ khong phải bản tiếp theo của Chrono Cross) trên Xbox360.Tin này nghe hơi vô lí vì gàn đây có nhiều dấu hiệu cho thấy SE đang có ý định làm Chrono Brake(như việc phát hành CC:Ultimate Hits,CT trên PSP..)
-Tựa game thứ 2 là mana cũng sẽ được bán cho Nintendo.Cái này càng lạ hơn vì SE đang có dự định khôi phục dòng game này.
-Cuối cùng KH cũng sẽ được bán cho Blue Vista game.
Hiện tại đây mới chỉ là tin đồn,tui đã gửi Email cho SE,hi vọng sẽ có câu trả lời

Toi rồi Tetsuya Nomura vừa lên tiếng rằng FF XIII sẽ không xuất hiện trong năm 2007 , bởivif họ còn quá nhiều tựa game phải xử lý như FF XII : Revenat to wings , Crisis Core ,.... ,

Tetsuya Nomura de Square Enix, which is definitely very occupied in this moment, declares in an interview granted to the Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation that Disney would wish that Square Enix develop Kingdom Hearts III. The famous Japanese designer specifies however that this development is not on the agenda, without giving more details. Square Enix mua bản quyền sử dụng Unreal Engine 3
SE đã mua bản quyền sử dụng Unreal Engine 3 từ Epic Games và dự định những game phát triển trên PS3 , Xbox360 và PC sẽ sử dụng công nghệ này .
Còn về White Engine thì SE dùng phát triển FFXIII và FFXIII VS cho PS3 , cùng những game khác trong tương lai . Có thể những game MMORPG sau của hãng cũng được sử dụng công nghệ này .

Tin tức mới về những game của SE năm 2007

Tạp chí Famitsuu đã phỏng vấn Shinji Hashimoto - người điều hành SE và Tetsuya Nomura - thiết kế nhân vật về những kế hoạch của công ty trong năm nay .
Những game cho PSP hiện nay sắp phát hành : FFVII Crisis Core , FF Tactics : Shishi Sensou và FFI & II Remake .

Tetsuya cho biết thêm anh và nhóm phát triển có 5 dự án thực hiện trong năm nay : Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix ( PS2 ) , Subarashiki no Sekai ( Nintendo DS ) , FFVII CC ( PSP ) và FFVII AC Complete . Bốn dự án này theo Tetsuya nói " Nếu chúng tôi không phát hành thì chúng sẽ chìm dần " . Điều này có lẽ đúng vì như FFVII CC đã trễ hẹn quá lâu .
Còn dự án thứ 5 ? Chính là FFXIII và qua lời của anh , FFXIII có thể phát hành ở Nhật vào năm 2008 . Điều này cũng ko có gì ngạc nhiên vì phong cách trễ hẹn với dòng FF của SE . Như FFXII đã trễ hẹn những 2 năm ( từ 2004 - 2006 ) .

January 25, 2007 - In the videogame equivalent of Angelina Jolie hooking up with Brad Pitt, Final Fantasy developer Square Enix will use Epic's Unreal Engine 3 for future next-gen and PC titles. Final Fantasy XIII, exclusive to PS3, is to be the last game to utilize Square's White Engine exclusively.

In an effort to ensure top-quality in its next-gen games, Square Enix is building a "combined technology platform." In a press release issued this morning, Square noted the new platform would be used "throughout the company, utilizing proprietary technologies as well as third-party solutions such as Unreal Engine 3."

Taku Murata, general manager, research and development division at Square Enix, expanded on Square's decision to use Unreal Engine 3. "The complexity of next-generation game systems featuring HD graphics and multi-core parallel processing poses a number of technological challenges to our game development," Murata said. "However, we can expedite our game development process significantly while allowing extra time and resources to be spent on game design and mechanics by establishing an effective technology platform... I'm excited to be partnering with Epic Games in such an important area."

"We're extremely excited to be working with Square Enix," said Epic Games' vice president, Jay Wilbur. "Square Enix is one of the biggest and most influential companies in the worldwide game business, and having them work with Unreal Engine 3 is a major honor for us and something we're very proud to be announcing."

No specific titles were mentioned in the press release, but it is likely the first Square Enix title to utilize the Unreal Engine would come no earlier than 2008.

Both Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy XIII will be the last games to use the White Engine. Epic's Unreal Engine 3(The same Engine which powered Gears of War).

SE specified no games which would be using the Unreal Engine, however the next major game that comes to mind could be Kingdom Hearts III.

[Protect the Crystal With Your Life -- Agito XIII]

Aizawa: Now for the third and last game, Agito XIII, what kind of a role do the crystals play?
Tabata: I can't talk about the details at this stage (laughs). But, there are multiple crystals that have the latent ability of thought. That is one of the reasons why the protagnists protect the crystals. They grant all kinds of blessings and keeps the world in peaceful order.

Katou: At one point in the trailer where the crystal splits apart in a room of flames, cards were scattered all over the place. Names of party members and their HP gauge were shown on the cards, however, in Agito XIII party members refer to other mobile users who are playing the game, right?
Tabata: Right. However, that doesn't mean you can't play the game on your own. We're mixing in the things that make online games fun while keeping the offline feel intact.

Aizawa: Will in-game play look like the trailer, or will it be closer to Nomura's illustrations?
Tabata: More like the illustrations. But the game will be in full 3D, so the graphics won't be like Before Crisis -FFVII-. We're making it so that players will feel like they're living in this world. Like in MMORPGs where players freely carry out their own lives, for example, will be incorporated into the game.

Katou: Sounds really original.
Tabata: One the one hand, the type of games that are time-constrained wouldn't be suitable for mobile users. On the other hand, we thought "What if we create a new and interesting game that people can easily pick up and still cater to the way people use their cell phones, allowing them to enjoy an online game all the while decreasing the hurdles of online gaming?" For the games after Before Crisis -FFVII-, Nomura and I thought long and hard to strive for that. Agito XIII is the result of that effort. Please look forward to it.
Prologue of FFXIII:

Built for it's great existence, a "shell" stays afloat in Heaven
which encompasses a closed society, called Cocoon.

There, protected by the enormous machines and living beings
invented by the Crystal, the city fluorishes.

In the midst of a time of long lasting peace,
the inhabitants of Cocoon feared the "outsiders".

Outside of the shell, the underworld Pulse awakens,
and the invisible invaders frightens the people.

Slowly, people started suspecting each other,
and started harboring hatred for one another.

The "Holy Goverment", wishing for the peace of Cocoon,
took emergency countermeasures.

Suspicous people and those who have been influenced by the "outsiders"
were apprehended, announcing their forced migration to the underworld Pulse.

People were in virtual banishments, but awaiting for the truth to come was more ruthless than being banished.

Also as a symbol of peace, the Crystal chose people,
determined their fate, and with that intention, led the world.

And then, she was chosen.

As the enemy of mankind who will destroy the world,
she never speaks of herself, only referring to herself as "Lightning
A Crystal that Invents -- FF XIII]

Katou:What kind of place is "Cocoon"? Are the streets in the trailer part of Cocoon?
Toriyama: Yes. That is a part of the world protected by the Crystal. Cocoon is a space for the Crystal to invent many things that make life easier for its inhabitants.

Katou: What exactly does the Crystal invent?
Toriyama: The Crystal invents things like machines for the people to use, produces living beings and raises them, amongst many other things. The Crystal closely looks after its people's livelihood.

Katou: I understand the "closed" part, but am I right to say that Cocoon created itself and is progressively growing, while self-containing a closed-off society on its own?
Toriyama: It's an isolated space, but not completely. Outside of Cocoon is the underworld called Pulse. Pulse is a world filled with the monster's menace. First there was Pulse, then the Crystal thought "If humans were to live in this world, what kind of environment would be suitable for humans to live in?" The Crystal created Cocoon as the answer to that question.

Katou: So you're saying, that anything outside of Cocoon is considered Pulse? Is it dangerous to go outside?
Toriyama: That is correct. That is how the inhabitants of Cocoon percieve the outside world.

Aizawa: Earlier when the words "protected by the Crystal," "invents things", etc. arose, meant that the Crystal itself is personified by having conscious thought. Is that how the Crystals are like in FFXIII?
Toriyama: Yes, it's different from the Crystals we've had so far that only possessed magical powers. Changing the forumula a bit with Fabula Nova Crystallis, the crystals in FFXIII have the ability to invent things.

Aizawa: In the latest trailer there was an enormous thing being hanged and got blown up. Is that also something invented by the Crystal?
Toriyama: Correct. That is also something invented by the Crystal. It's one of the "outsiders", which has a name, but we can't reveal that yet.

Katou: The outsiders are...?
Toriyama: "Outside" refers to the underworld Pulse. Basically, things that came from Pulse or invented by Pulse's Crystal, or anything that does not belong within Cocoon, are referred to as "outsiders". A Crystal exists in Pulse as well, complementing the things within Cocoon.

Katou: There are different types of Crystals as well?
Toriyama: Yes, there are. Those who've been influenced by the "outsiders" are quarantined by the "Holy Government". The ones in shackles and wearing prison uniformers seen in the trailer are the ones currently being deported.

Katou: I get it! So the trailer shown this time completes the E3 trailer by filling in the front and back of it. Now we're able to see bits and pieces of the prologue.
Toriyama: With the E3 trailer, we focused on wowing the audience, but this time we decided to introduce the story a little. We inserted a long narration so that people can have an idea of what kind of a person our heroine is, and in what way does she live and breathe in this world.

Aizawa: Let's settle this once and for all. Is "Lightning" her name?
Toriyama: It is not her name. She refers to herself as "Lightning", and is called by that by others. We don't want to reveal her real name because you will find that out in the game. So please look forward to that.

Aizawa: We really want to know though, but all we can do is wait (laughs).
Toriyama: That's because we finally started to introduce the story (laughs). Please use future trailers and the trailer shown this time to your imagination in how we will incorporate them into the game. Look forward to it
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

A modern civilization alive with the Crystal's songs of swords and sorcery.
A lone kingdom fighting to forestall the outer world from imposing its heretic order.

The Only Crystal -- Versus XIII]

Katou: The battle scene was expanded, showing an overwhelmingly powerful protagonist.
Nomura: Being able to control him like that would be ideal. But that doesn't mean you'll be using that many weapons at the start of the game.

Katou: So, he'll start off weak?
Nomura: This is an RPG after all, so we have to make the player level up the character themselves (laughs).

Katou: (Laughs). In the end will we be able to flaunt our weapons like our hero does in the trailer after progressing through the story and obtaining all the weapons?
Nomura: That's what we have planned. If you're motivated to obtain the weapons, you will obtain them. The trailer gives you a feel of what it'll be like. Of the things we're considering, this trailer portrays the hero in a fairly strong state. We want to make it so that players can control him the same way, just like in the trailer.

Aizawa: Regarding the story's setting, what is the Crystal's role in this?
Nomura: Many things do not exist in this world. Being the only one in the world, the Crystal in the protagonist's country was the center of a cold war that has continued on for so long, but finally welcomes the thawing of the cold war.

Katou: The soldiers who came to attack are after the Crystal and plan to disturb the peace, correct?
Nomura: That is correct.

Katou: So that means the Crystal holds certain powers that are beneficial to the military?
Nomura: Yes. It was only briefly shown, but enshrined in a pillar-like object behind the protagnist seats the Crystal. You can't see it, so no one knows what the Crystal inside looks like.

Katou: The room with the throne has a shallow bed of water that's kind of suspicous (laughs). The words "in slumber" shown by the Crystal is explained, but is that the heart of the story?
Noruma: Yes. That is a very important point. There's a part in the Fabula Nova Crystallis myth that talks about "slumber", which is where Versus 13 comes from. We're planning to show real-time footage of the game in 2007, so please look forward to that then we can delve deeper into the game.
