And, no we’re not just saying that because Browser Sangokushi Next is free. While Sony hasn’t said much about software pricing, Nippon Ichi came out of the game and set Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention at 6,090 yen ($80). Square Enix’s launch games, Lord of Apocalypse and Army Corps of Hell, will retail for 5,980 yen ($78) and 4,980 yen ($65) respectively.



Dark Quest Alliance aka Gameloft’s Dungeon Hunter Alliance is just 2,940 yen ($38)– or 2,899 if you get it from Amazon. In dollars, the PlayStation Vita games appear more pricey, but they’re actually around the same price as PSP games in Japan. Final Fantasy Type-0, for example, is 7,700 yen ($100).



Sure, Dungeon Hunter Alliance will probably be a downloadable game in the West, but it’s interesting to note the wide range of PlayStation Vita retail software prices around the system’s launch window. Here’s what 2,940 yen gets you.

Persona 4: The Golden is coming to PlayStation Vita with extra content like a new character, rescue system, and anime scenes. As the commercial speeds through different parts of the game, there’s a glimpse of the weather system which shows combinations of rainy, sunny, and cloudy days. For those of you that missed Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 on PlayStation 2, this is a key part of the game. It’s kind of hard to see, but the news program appears to have a new weather icon. Kaio: King of Pirates for Nintendo 3DS was one of the major announcements at Marvelous AQL’s post-merger event, but they are working on PlayStation Vita titles too.



In addition to Browser Sangokushi Next, the newly formed Marvelous AQL will develop at least three games for PlayStation Vita. Marvelous showed a slide that lists the game’s genres:



- new fantasy RPG

- new fantasy action RPG

- new action adventure



Past fantasy faire for Marvelous include the Luminous Arc series and Arc Rise Fantasia, both developed by Imageepoch. "We are very close with Imageepoch still," Tomio Kanazawa, producer, said earlier in an interview with Siliconera. "We’re not sure what platform we will put the next [Luminous Arc] game on. We do want to continue making the series with them and there will be a possibility to do so down the road."]
