If you hadn't said it, I was working myself up to. I have a problem though. Too often I am using the AMTRAC expertly, and some douchenozzle comes along and fucks it all up. I'd like to lay down a few guidelines for other players in regard to this vehicle.
AMTRAC GUIDELINES
1) The AMTRAC is a tool. If you don't have a plan, don't ******* drive the AMTRAC.
2) If you do have a plan and want to drive the AMTRAC, make sure your ******* plan considers all the people in the AMTRAC, not just you.
3) If I'm driving the AMTRAC, shoot the ******* gun. Then hit Y and shoot the other ******* gun. Repeat. Don't stop. Spot shit. Create havoc. If we are sitting on the ******* objective and it's armed, lay down suppressive fire and pound the **** out of the area. If not get the **** out so I can, you worthless piece of shit.
4) If I'm gunning on the AMTRAC and we are parked on the objective, do not move the ******* AMTRAC. I parked it there so me and the other two guys who don't **** can win the game for your sorry ass.
5) If the AMTRAC is parked on the objective and you spawn in it as a passenger, get the **** out of the AMTRAC. Armor supports infantry and infantry defends armor, so get out and do your job you hapless coward. Get the **** out of the AMTRAC and arm the objective. Why the **** do you think I'm on the gun clearing the area of enemies? If you are taking too much damage get in and heal. Then get the **** out again. And don't come back!
6) Stop moving the ******* AMTRAC. If I'm in the gunner's seat and nobody else is in it, that's by design. The only time you should move it is if the objective we're at is cleared. Then move it to cover and park it where the gun can shoot the next objective. If you can't do that, then don't ******* move the goddamn AMTRAC.
7) Spawn in the goddamn AMTRAC. I didn't roll in from Timbuktu at 4 miles an hour just so you can get your ass sniped out of a rubber boat every 20 seconds. I've got a fortress here. Use it as quick insertion, and repair and defend it.
8) If we get the drop on a tank and can hit it from behind or in the rear quarter panel, be ******* still so I can do work on it. Same with infantry. Achieve partial cover and make sure the cannon has clearance. If you are gunning in such a situation, don't get out and flee like a *****. Go to town with the main gun. The main cannon rounds experience considerable drop even at medium-short range, so aim a little high. It is also spectacular against infantry thanks to its superior AoE. Pound around their cover, and watch the bodies drop. If you need to turn the turret faster, switch to the secondary. Be sure to empty the main gun fast, so you can get a new magazine loading ASAP.
9) If you are driving, do not abandon the AMTRAC in the wide open middle of nowhere. Pull it up to partial cover beside a building, and for ****'s sake leave the ******* turret sticking out a bit and oriented in a decent ******* direction. Don't point the rear at the enemy, ever! What the hell are you thinking?
10) If we are defending, kill the ******* AMTRAC, now! That behemoth is bad news.
I'm certain I've left something out. If you know what you're doing with the AMTRAC, please disregard this, as you no doubt understand these things and feel my pain already.
TL;DR: Stop moving the ******* AMTRAC.
