First scene is with Shin & co. Shin is unhappy about where they've been deployed, thinking they won't be getting a shot at Riboku if it's like this. Ten thinks Ousen's intent is to keep the Hi Shin Unit hidden (because being at the back, they're not visible to the Zhao on the battlefield) and use them at the end/conclusion. Kyoukai appears and says they'd better pay attention to the left, for that is where the direction of the battle will be decided. Ten says that she's correct.
Back with the Zhao, they receive information that the left of Qin's army is a mere 5000. According to the narration, because this is so it is a clear challenge to Riboku from Ousen, literally 'come attack me if you dare!'. Riboku thus faces two choices: Either send Kisui's army to wipe out Mouten's army or to start somewhere else. Riboku makes his choice and sends Kaine to order Kisui to wipe out the Qin army's left.
The battle between Riboku and Ousen has thus truly begun.
Kisui gives his army orders to move out.
Scene switches to the Gakuka unit. Mouten's men are uneasy about facing the army of 30000, but Mouten just says it can't be helped and doesn't seem very worried. Mouten wishes his men good fortune and sets out. We get a bit of a conversation between the old man who's always with Mouten & the rooster-helmet. The geezer tells the rooster-helmet that he entrusts Mouten to him. He also has a flashback reminscing about how careless/reckless Mouten could be as a kid.
Back with the advancing Kisui army. They're apparently getting closer to Mouten's army. According to their scouts, the Mouten army hasn't moved from their initial positions. Batai wonders if Ousen is stupid since they'll easily push into the HQ if it goes on as it does. Kisui seems to feel uneasy about it and orders the army to halt and observe things for a while. Kisui sends new scouts forward to report the situation. The scouts come back with a report and Kisui & Batei wonders if the enemy has moved. The scouts answer that this isn't the case, but half of the enemy's numbers have disappeared. They wonder what might have become of that half of the enemy's troops.
As Kisui's thinking about it he sees a cavalry unit appear and attack the large Kisui army from the right. They're baffled by both the fact that the cavalry unit is attacking them and that they managed to sneak upon them without being spotted by anyone. Kisui & Batei direct forces to attack this unit, which is being led by Mouten. Then Mouten's cavalry unit withdraws and Kisui orders for some of his cavalry troops to give chase and wipe them out. The cavalry unit follows with the intent of fulfilling that order, but the cavalry unit chasing Mouten's cavalry unit soon find themselves being attacked by Qin soldiers! Mouten led them into a trap! Mouten himself welcomes his enemies to his 'hunting grounds' as he calls it. Chapter ends...
