Speculation abound now, as Ubisoft appears to have accidentally leaked the name of its next Assassin's Creed title, as well as a logo and some subtle hints about what direction it might be taking. In short, it looks like Assassin's Creed: Revelations could be doing for Altair what Brotherhood did for Ezio. That is expanding the Middle Eastern assassin's story with a new chapter.
The apparent slip was posted on Facebook before being hastily removed, but not before NeoGAF got in there and took some quick screen grabs, which reportedly included a Flash image of the logo and Altair's name in Arabic script, according to VG247.
Ubisoft had said that it was planning to reveal the next game in the Assassin' Creed series sometime in May, so it could be that someone was slightly too quick on the draw. Or is this all just an elaborate ruse to throw us off the scent of another Assassin's Creed game? Who knows? Frankly, there's not enough concrete evidence to categorically say what's going on with this, but this should spark a nice bit of speculation.
So, speculate away! Is Altair making a comeback in a Brotherhood-style game before Assassin's Creed III proper gets released? It could happen. Either way, it's set to release during Ubi's FY2012.
