The crowd of 24520 turning up at KPI Arena today were greeted by some nasty showers of rain. People from all of Da Nang had joined up for the derby. NTUU had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Decheiver - Bohl, Cockx, Busnelli - Haj-Ismail, Shang-Chuan, Kim-Ho, van den Dries, Rozental - Kaplan, Hanuman.
temp1234 tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Khoi - Jauhiainen, Standaert, Nicolaye - Andersson, Supernak, Sepulveda, Toth, Nuñez - Shiau-Lou, Žuža.
It was an obvious ambition of NTUU to attack on the flanks. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a 4:th minute goal by Raphaël Kaplan for NTUU, putting them ahead 1 - 0. As Tillmann Busnelli had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the NTUU player a red card without batting an eye. temp1234 were forced to a substitution as Varun Nicolaye couldn´t continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Jan Grenhall to come in from the sidelines. NTUU put themselves up 2 - 0 when Raphaël Kaplan broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Jørn Bohl of NTUU received a yellow card in the 29th minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. NTUU's Raphaël Kaplan scored 3 - 0 by shooting accurately and hard from a long distance, leaving the opponent goalie no other option than to pick up the ball from the net. By then Raphaël Kaplan was a three time scorer - a hat trick! A bit later temp1234's Dario Žuža easily reduced to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home sides central defense line. The home sides Raphaël Kaplan twisted a free kick home in the 37:th minute, putting NTUU ahead 4 - 1. By now NTUU were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. The referee showed temp1234's Rieks Toth the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Almost all the way down to the corner flag Luis Rozental somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Raphaël Kaplan who struck for 5 - 1. temp1234 reduced in the 42nd minute to 5 - 2 as Shao Shiau-Lou easily chipped the ball past the home sides keeper on a play from the right. The teams went for a half-time break at 5 - 2. temp1234 held the ball, with a clear 55 percent possession rate.
temp1234 kept trying to force their way through on the right side. Dario Žuža got his chance in the 47:th minute, but the home sides left defence held his position and was able to stop the attack. In the 56:th minute Fredrik Andersson, after an opportunist attack from the right, scored the reducer for temp1234 making it 5 - 3. A great save by goaltender Peng Khoi in the 60th minute kept the visitors in the game as Zhang Shang-Chuan struck from the left with a real cannonball. temp1234 fought on and, in the 68:th minute Dario Žuža was able to reply with 5 - 4 after some excellent moves on the right side finished off by an incredibly clever chip. The referee showed NTUU's Hinko van den Dries the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Some brilliant football from the visitors right wing resulted in a 71st minute levelling of scores as temp1234s Dario Žuža equalised to 5 - 5. At that, Dario Žuža was noted down for a hat trick. temp1234, bringing the final ball possession rate to 57 percent, dominated the battle.
The most dominating NTUU player was without a doubt Freddie Decheiver. Luis Rozental on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating temp1234 player was without a doubt Mike Sepulveda. Jan Grenhall on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 5.
