I'm from blah blah blah I like blah blah blah The table below compares the consumer durables percentage of households with central heating, television, video, vacuum cleaner, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher and telephone in Britain in 1972-1983. It can be clearly seen that the percentage of most of these consumer durables owned has risen as the years went by.
The highest number of consumer durables used belonged to television and refrigerator with 98% and 94% respectively in 1983 especially refrigerator increased by 11% from 1972 to 1983. The lowest number is recorded in dishwasher with only 5% in 1983.
Another noticeable feature is that video had not appeared until 1983 with 18%. Similarly, dishwasher was used in 1978 with only 3% and had a slight rise to 5% in 1983. In contrast, vacuum cleaner was the very popular consumer durable in 1972 (87%) and increases gradually in the period of time 1972-1982 but in 1983 it totally disappeared in the demand of households.
To sum up, the most common consumer durables from 1972 to 1983 is television and the two have lower amount of using are refrigerator and washing machine.
