MediaFire is designed to be used as a File Sharing service. It is not meant to be used as a long term backup service for important files. Mediafire does not recommend that you upload files for long term storage as they may be subject to deletion if they are not accessed.
For MediaPro subscribers, your uploaded files will be stored forever as long as your MediaPro account is active. For free accounts, there is currently no time limit on how long uploaded files will be stored as long as you access your account (i.e. login to your account) and your files are being accessed (i.e. downloaded) on a regular basis. Every account is different and different accounts may become idle at different times. Historically accounts were inactive after 60 days without a login. Our goal is to flush out users who are through using MediaFire and their data is collecting dust. As long as you access your account or your files on a regular basis you will not recieve inactivity warnings. Email notifications will be sent out prior to removing files from our servers for account inactivity. If you are a Mediafire free user and your files were deleted due to inactivity, they are deleted from all servers and cannot be retrieved.
