Hotline Miami, Dennaton Games October 23-launched 2D top-down action game for PC, could come to PlayStation 3 or PS Vita, according to creator Jonatan Soderstrom.

The developer has “been talking to Sony” about bringing the game to PlayStation devices. “We would need someone to port it for us,” Soderstrom told PocketGamer.

Soderstrom is also interested in bringing the game to touchscreen devices.

“Would be interesting to see if it was possible to get it to play well on a touchscreen device,” Söderström said. “Sounds like a challenge.”

NEWS from Tale of Hearts R

official-website-for-tales-of-hearts-r-opens.png

First details on Tales of Hearts R have come out of Famitsu this week. Development on the game is currently 50 percent complete. Battles, like the rest of the game, are in full 3D.

New to the PS Vita remake is Chase Link Mode. When you fulfill conditions during an attack, the character you’re operating switches into Chase Link Mode. After an enemy has flown up into the air, there is a moment where you can close in and overtake the enemy. Also, there is something similar to the Overlimit Gauge on the left side of the screen the same as seen in Tales of Vesperia.

The following Artes are discussed, and mysterious cut ins for Shing and Calcedoni are also introduced.

Shing Meteoryte – Soaring Parry
Jadeite Hearts – Needle Sparrow
Calcedoni Arkam – Blue Blade

Soul Sacrifice offers three choices after death

Soul-Sacrifice-May-35-Logo.jpg

New details on Soul Sacrifice‘s online mode are revealed in this week’s Famitsu.

Here are some tidbits:

- Role-sharing.
- Neighboring attacks, long distance attacks, indirect magic, recovery magic, rescue, sacrifice, etc.
- Every option is related to a player’s level and changes the play style, which in turn changes the story’s outcome.
- Abilities can be gained when a sorcerer gives an offering.
- Offerings can be discovered with the “mind’s eye.” They can help you make new weapons and protective gear. You can increase the number of times you use offerings.
- When you use the mind’s eye technique, the graphics change to thermo-graphic visuals that reveal your enemy’s weak spots.
- After death.
- If you die, you’re given three choices: “Call for help,” “become a sacrifice,” or “choose death.”
- If you opt for death, you become a spirit and can continue fighting with support (by touching comrades and enemies on screen) but you cannot attack.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified Short Hands-on Gameplay

 • The game will run at 30 frames per second. According to Nihilistic, the game will be “Locked at 30fps the vast majority of the time. All games of course can drop frames when action gets insane, so I can't say 100%.”
 • Zombies mode is not in the game because only “Activision and Sony can greenlight” the mode. Nihilistic says they pitched the idea and would love to do it but that it's just not their call.
 • The player count is set up 8 because that's the amount of players Sony's Party application supports.
 • Nihilistic cannot confirm if voice chat will be in the game (outside of party chat). Judging by the tweets, it's not in the game.
 • Wager matches will not be in the game.
 • There are no bots.
 • Hostiles, the mode where you have to survive against waves of enemies, is singleplayer only. There are five hostiles missions.
 • There are no killcams.

 • No Gold Camo for guns.
 • You'll be able to set clan tags.
 • The Emblem Creator is not available.
 • Five preset classes, five custom classes and 1 class that can be shared via Near. Prestige Mode doesn't add more custom classes.
 • Activision started developement about one year ago, Nihilistic was brought in “shortly thereafter”
 • There are seven different killstreaks (Spy Plane, Care Package, Counter-Spy Plane, Mortar Strike, Sentry Gun, Adv. Spy Plane, Attack Helicopter)
 • No theater mode.
 • There are five multiplayer modes (Team DM, Kill Confirmed DM, Drop Zone, Free-for-all, and Team Tactical (shuffle other modes)).

 • Tomahawk, crossbow and ballistic knife are available
 • There is no hardcore mode.
 • Mini-map, radar and prone stance are supported.
 • No ragdoll psysics.

 • Animations are “very similar” to the console versions.
 • Red dot and ACOG. No holographic sights.
 • You cannot change the design of the red dots in your sight.
 • No camera spike (the thing you could place in MP to overview a part of the map you're not really looking at)
 • Tomahawk is closer to the one in Black Ops (not like Black Ops 2)
 • Nihilistic says the graphics are the “best [they've] seen on Vita”
 • ”The graphics are far better than what was shown in the Gamescom trailer.”
 • No Ghili suits for snipers.
 • Nihilistic is nearly certain there won't be an online pass.
 • There is a killfeed on the lower left.
 • The game doesn't use the same engine as Resistance, “although some underlying tech is shared”
 • Private matches are not customizable “to the degree they are in the console versions”. That means: You can select a game type and the number of players but nothing else, it seems.
 • No C4 equipment in MP.
 • Full weapon list for Multiplayer: Carbine (aka Commando), AK47, M16, Galil, M14, FAMAS, MP5K, Uzi, AK74u, PP19, RPK, M60, Stoner, l96a1, Dragunov, SPAS-12, Striker, ASP, Python, Skorpion, CZ75, Mac11, Strella, China Lake, RPG, Underaction Launcher, Balliastic Knife, Crossbow, Tomahawk, Frag, Semtex, Bouncing Betty, Flashbang.

 • There are 10 operation missions (the singleplayer), they'll be a mix of Spec Ops and Campaign missions.
 • Kills from killstreaks stack.
 • There are no ladders you can climb. Wut?
 • There is host migration.

Retailer selling PS Vita Call of Duty bundle nearly 10 days early

Image11032012193054.jpg

I took this photo yesterday at my local HEB Plus store. HEB Plus stores in Texas (and elsewhere in the US) have been known for selling street dated games ahead of their release dates. Last year I purchased both Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land the day before their respective release dates. Not too early (only 24 hours) but these HEB employees don’t seem to keep up with sensitive information like official street dates.

I was surprised when I saw the Call of Duty PS Vita system bundle for sale. I took this picture of the system sitting out in the game display where it sat below shelves of Wii, 3DS, DS games and next to a bunch of other Playstation accessories.

I had no intention of purchasing the bundle but I asked the employee if I could see it and he gladly opened the case for me and let me check it out for a moment. I turned him down when he asked me if I wanted him to take it to the counter for purchase. He seemed to have no problem selling the system bundle nearly 10 days early.

The PS Vita Call of Duty bundle is set to release on the 13th, so if you have an HEB Plus near you (they’re only in a few states) than get down to it and you could pick up the bundle very early. Like I said, HEB has a history of breaking street dates on video games and it’s very likely you’ll be able to take advantage of this.
