Study English (được phép dùng tiếng Việt)

Hello, its my 1st time here.

I'm going to attend an IELTS test, i want to know which book/document should i study from? And are there any site that let me do some kind of pre-test to know which level i'm at right now?

And anything i should know before doing the test?

Guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a problem

Sometimes when I speak English so often and with little to no contact with my native people I tend to have problems with remembering certain words in Vietnamese. It's not exactly that I forget them, they are just on the tip of my tongue but it's easier to find them in English.
Also, I have a number of words related to my job that I don't know how to translate to Vietnamese yet in all of a sudden but I surely understand them in English.

Do you ever have situations like this? How did you overcome?

trouble acknowledged!
No worried about it, it's just a temporary distruption of your mother tounge due to situation, maybe because your brain "turn off" your Vietnamese to avoid mistakes during the conversation

^ i think his problem is not just he temporary forget vietnamese but also amount of vocabulary in vietnamese is not abundant.

It depends on the context you use the english words that can't be translated to vietnamese. If you use it in the group of people who all know the meaning of the words, I think you don't have to translate to vnmese just use the originals. In other cases, just explain to others.

The problem is it's really unprofessional when we use both VNese and Eng simultaneously.

all the damn time. you will eventually get used to it though. sometimes I must actively try not to speak in both VNmese and English. IMO reading has nothing to do with it, it's just our habit of using certain words more often than the other

@CyberTuxedo: it is off the topic, how many languages can you use (i meant w/o google translator)? and your major?
I know its personal matter, i can take " i can't tell you" as response.

I can speak 6 languages:))), but in just 1-2 sentences

True. It took me almost 2 years to establish a "Vietnamese Mode" and a "English Mode". My Spanish isn't good enough to build a mode yet but I'm working on it. Once I get into one mode, my abilities in the other decrease tremendously; usually make it difficult to even speak a complete sentence. And it takes about 20 minnutes to switch mode.

I find translating practice helpful. It can increase the speed of switching languages or eveven establish an ability to get a word in both languages simultaneously
