This week's Nakky blog has been translated and summarized by Andriasang.com once again. While the developer blog this week talked specifically about character tweaks, the Nakky blog takes some time to talk about the Japan Street Fighter 4 Nationals and the future of Arcade Super SF4. The most interesting quote is this one;
"Now that Super SFIV's arcade conversion has been set, development can at last start. Will there be tuning? Will there be additional characters? When will it hit arcades? Nothing has been decided yet."
Now let me start by saying that I do not believe for a second that they are just now starting development on the arcade version. I'm sure this has been part of their plan for quite some time, as thats generally how things go when developing software. With that in mind, this comment could easily be a solid hint at the future of Super SF4. Could a balance patch, including new characters, actually be planned DLC for Super SF4, and part of the default Arcade version build? It makes more sense to "beta"-test the game on console where it is more easily updated later than to put the first version in the arcade as they did with the first SF4. Also, its interesting to note that SSF4 is launching for $40 dollars. If DLC hit and cost money, it would probably still be cheaper than a normal $60 dollar retail game, but not by much. Is this part of the plan? Speculation aside, this is interesting news indeed.
