All free games that you get with Playstation Plus are downloaded with licenses that expire when the subscription that they were downloaded under ends. If the game is still in your downloads list, and you are signed in to PSN, then the license should have been updated automatically with the end-date of your new subscription. Clicking the download button for the game in the Playstation Store, or Account Management app, does the same thing. If the Playstation Store wants you to pay for it again, then that means that the games were removed from your downloads list when your subscription ended, and were not put back when you purchased the new subscription. Sony has changed its policy about that multiple tmes, without notice. When Plus first started, if your subscription expired, then you lost all of your free games and had to start over. Then there was a grace period during which you could buy a new subscription after yours expired, and get all of your old Plus downloads back. Sony would never say how long the grace period was. Recently, after the PS4 launched, people have been reporting that they are losing all of their free downloads if their Plus subscription lapses again; even if they purchased a new one fairly soon. I would contact Playstation customer support by phone or live chat, and talk to them about it. Perhaps they can do something.
