Okay, let me deal with a few issues before we begin. This album was sold to me by a guy I know as "Vietnamese black war metal." First of all, "metal" must be more guitar based than keyboard based, otherwise it's just not metal, in my book. Sword of Darkness breaks this rule terribly on here. It's very hard to feel the power of the guitar riffs under the oceans of keyboards thrown over everything.
"War?" Where does this come in exactly? When I think "war" I think of violence and destruction, whereas this is more symphonic and melancholic. They do a cover of an Old Man's Child song on here, and I think they did the right thing by making it sound like one of their own. But this most certainly is not violent.
You could possibly describe this as black metal, because they do use the raspy vocals, an occasional fast beat, and the keyboards are similar to Dimmu Borgir. But to me, I like early Mayhem (that does include the demos!), Emperor, Venom, Dissection, and Bathory. These bands have a lot of violence in their music and are coined black metal, with good reason, and most of all, they USE GUITARS!!!
I'm really not a fan of this because it just isn't that good. There are a few parts that I like, but the bulk of the material just doesn't keep my interest. Even if you look at it like a Limbonic Art album (great band, by the way), Sword of Darkness isn't capable of creating the depth of Limbonic Art. A lot of the keyboard lines are really simple, and don't create any sort of atmosphere.
I don't know how their new stuff is, but that might be worth checking out, because I know this is their first demo, and their lack of experiance is quite clear from the get-go.

Đội này tớ nghe ra mùi Nu + hardcore hơn là mùi metalcore. Và nói chung là hơi thập cẩm

Tui thấy bọn Maximum The Hormone cũng có chơi metalcore đấy chứ,nhất là ở mấy đoạn breakdown,mà châu á thì thể loại gì thì tui thấy cũng soft hơn bọn tây.

Breakdown ko phải độc quyền của metalcore đâu bạn, hardcore,deathcore hay Nu đều dùng (thậm chí là còn nhiều hơn).
Ngay cả việc kết hợp scream vocal + Clean vocal cũng vậy.
Cậu thử để ý các câu riff guitar, câu trống, và tone đàn của đội này, cậu sẽ thấy mùi Nu rất rõ.

Biết tụi Maximum này từ một ông gamevn nào đó giới thiệu,band này dc cái là thành viên nào cũng kiêm luôn vị trí vocal.
