Summary:
- Expect a similar number of cinematics for Vergil like in previous Special Editions (intro and ending, basically)
- Every nuance of the Concentration mechanic in 4SE is returning. Easier to increase the Concentration meter than in 4SE.
- The V move, World of V, is a summon that works like an AoE attack, and requires a high enough Concentration meter to use. Enemies defeated by it are more likely to drop green orbs.
- Sin Devil Trigger super attacks are Judgment Cut End, Hell on Earth and Deep Stinger (for Yamato, Beowulf and Mirage Edge respectively)
- Yamato, Beowulf, Mirage Edge all have unique combo finishers in Sin Devil Trigger form
- Planning on Vergil started after DMC5 released.
- The Vergil mod on PC used remnants of a tool that was to playtest the boss version of Vergil. The tool was used since special care was being taken to design Vergil, given his importance.
- Character and gameplay-wise, the developers want the player's image of Vergil to remain intact. All of Vergil's gameplay additions like Concentration, Doppelganger, the way his SDT differs from Dante's, World of V, balance the fun factor with keeping him distinct from the other characters.
- V is not completely gone, is a part of Vergil (like Roxas in KH?)
- Lady and Trish were not playable in the original game because they wanted to focus on the Sparda family
- Localizing the Before the Nightmare prequel novel is not up to Matt (since it's a licensing item).
