Download:THE GOOD:
Six histories rolled into one, and thus, six countries to choose from. Gameplay won't bore you and you can do just about anything without too much restrictions.
THE BAD:
The repitition of quests tends to sink in after some time of playing and tends to drag your more important conquering. Also it lacks a maniacs mode since hard would be too easy in the long run.
SUMMARY:
This turn-based strategy is better than many strategies because it is not too linear and you won't be stuck in a single map or area(unless you want to). Stories tend to become boring after some repetition but Brigandine differs in a way that it keeps the story lines for each country at minimal and focuses more on the action. Furthermore, the game continues even if the basic story is done(defeating Esgares). There are a variety of characters in the game and few added ones, and each country has its own strengths and weaknesses.
The main weakness of the game is that the quests tend to repeat themselves and that there is no way to avoid going through them unless you stop questing.
It is not necessary to cheat in this game for the game isn't really hard if you give it a few tries. And it does pay to wait for Aldis even from the start.
